The '71 Buick Riviera is the only boat tail with louvers in the trunk. It was flow through ventilation system, but guess it picked up exhaust gases and caused breathing problems for the driver, so most of them were blocked off. But, the '71 Buick boat tail was the one year that had the strongest most powerful engine of them all. It was the Gran Sport, Stage 1, 455. or, the 425 dual quad Wildcat engine. They said that was right up there in competition with the Chrysler Hemi's. Pat.
