This little jewel weighed 1 lb. and 5 oz. at birth. We brought her home 4 & 1/2 months after her birth and got to treasure her for another 7 months. She brightened every room she entered. She was cute and friendly and was working hard at catching up, but at 11 months she could still wear newborn shoes. Five days before her first birthday she got another cold and 3 days before the birthday she just couldn't breathe any more and she went to be with the Lord.

Our sorrow was overwhelming...but greater, still, was God's presence through the whole of our experience with this child...IS God's presence. Her story is known by thousands. Her life has not been in vain. She was a miracle baby. It was a miracle that she lived and grew and got to be with us at all. The miracle continues in lives she touched, relationships that healed and hearts that softened because of her life and then because of her death.

God works all things for good to those who love him and are called according to his purposes. I've known that verse all my life, but this little life brought it home to me as never before.
