Ellen, I wonder if it had a cast iron heater that uses wood to keep things warm.

Not to worry my friends, see the second set of steps on the right side of the cabin? They lead to the bedroom. The fireplace is against the wall between the bedroom and the main part of the cabin, and the chimney is just behind the ridge of the roof on the other side. I know this because there were a couple of photos of this cabin from different angles, and one of them showed it from that angle. There was also some wood stacked over there, but not alot. Maybe 2-3 nights worth.
