@suemarie Thanks for reply!
I'm gradually learning about how communication can work here at jigidi.
I need to concentrate on doing some of the great puzzles available, instead of chit-chatting, perhaps. jigidi really is extraordinary in the way it is set up for puzzle lovers. :-)))

suemarie

Thanks, gogogo! This puzzle is fine, but, if there's ever anything you want to talk about privately, I can just reuse the photo, or another one, and not post it on Jigidi publicly. I would just put that @gogogo on it that alerts you to a comment. When you then click on the blue word "comment", it takes you to the puzzle. You probably already know about how that works, but, in case you don't, I thought I'd tell you. You'll see the notification that I mentioned you here, by the way.

I'm glad you liked hearing about my life. I love finding out about my friends here, too. :-)))))))

gogogo

suemarie, Looking for a puzzle where I can "connect" with you, on occasion, so chose this one. Let me know if there's a "go to" puzzle you would prefer me to use, please.

Thank you so much for all you had to say, at WAI today, about where you lived, how you traveled, & what you did in NYC area. I loved that you shared all of that & have read it numerous times, to take in all the details. :-)))

suemarie

Glad you enjoyed it--thanks!

To cute for words. THANK YOU

gogogo

Thank you, suemarie! :-))

suemarie

Yes, it's all done now--I'll have to take a pic to post.

Merry Christmas to you, too, Pam! :-)))))

gogogo

Hi suemarie, Here it is Christmas Eve & I imagine your tree is now decorated with ornaments & tinsel? And I bet it's looking quite gorgeous!
Merry Christmas wishes to you & everyone at jigidi ~
gogogo/Pam

suemarie

Will do!

Thanks Sue. Can't open it for some reason. Maybe you could try posting it tomorrow?

suemarie

I already posted 4 puzzles today, the limit, so here's a link to a private one of our other dog. If anyone else wants to see it, too, go ahead! :-)))

suemarie

Thanks! That's the oatmeal-colored one--she's about 35 pounds. I'll have to find a pic of the chocolate-colored one, who's about 65 pounds. :-)))

Loving the color of your doodle!

jignut

What great idea! I'd love to see a picture of it.

megabelle2000

jignut...we have our tree out on the deck and have for years....it can be seen from two rooms and is fabulous in the dark of night....it drops no needles and stays fresh for months, actually. After Christmas we pour bird seeds on the branches and it is a welcome “oasis” for the birds!!! And it looks fabulous in the snow. We put on lights and weather proof ornaments and a home made weatherproof topper...I’ll post a photo when this years is finished!!!

suemarie

LOL!

One of our cats, many, many years ago, was like that--one night, we came downstairs after hearing a loud crash, only to find the tree lying on the floor, many ornaments and light bulbs smashed.....apparently he climbed the tree, got tangled in a string of lights, and tried to jump off, pulling the tree down with him. (This was when we used a very light-weight tree-stand--now we have a heavy-duty one.) There are still two nail-holes in the windowsill behind the tree, where we subsequently put big nails to use as anchors, tying the tree to the sill with a wire around its trunk.....

jignut

I have a "ready to go" tree like bookish but this is the first year not to put it up. I have two very baaaad Siamese cats. To them nothing is sacred. Maybe I could just put it on the front porch and look at it through the window.

suemarie

Yes, that's it...... sigh.......

gogogo

suemarie, Read your comment about this year not being very festive, with events of a month ago. If you are referring to what I think you are, I agree.

suemarie

That's one thing Cassie isn't known for--a determined and purposeful expression! "Befuddled" and "clueless" come closer...... :-)))))))

RandomWorship

That's so funny! I'm always amused by dogs that do stuff with a "mind of their own". Like when you see a dog purposefully walking itself down a street. Not that I condone having uncontrolled animals out and about. But sometimes they seem to have such a determined and purposeful expression on their faces, that it makes me laugh. They know where they are going, and why! If only we knew.......... (❛ᴗ❛)

suemarie

Thanks, technot! And I love your photo of the snow covered one--so beautiful!

No problem about repeating, Francine--I had the feeling someone was going to ask about the tinsel, since I did talk about it on several puzzles--I felt funny posting this "naked" pic after everything I'd said! LOL! We had an artificial tree for a number of years when our kids were growing up, but we missed the fragrance, if not the mess. Somehow this year isn't very festive here, either, not with the events of a month ago.....

bookish

Thanks, Sue. Would you believe, I didn't notice your comments beneath puzzle. Sorry to have you repeat. Husband brings up the tree with lights already there as he doesn't take them out of tree (fake tree). When not in use, tree covered with a sheet and stored in a closet. I decorate tree as I'm also inclined to be fussy. Sadly, since I decorate tree, it's also my job to take everything down. Somehow it feels like a chore this year.

technot

Lovely tree. You can never have too many lights. :)

suemarie

Yes, as I wrote under the puzzle pic, we put the ornaments and tinsel on later--I get really tired and sore from all the bending and stretching from putting on the lights, so I like to just enjoy the tree as is for a few days, or even until the next weekend, before I do anything else!!! My husband likes to put on just a few ornaments, the ones he's been gifted over the years, so I do the rest, just the way I put up the outdoor lights and decorations, and the wreaths. It isn't because I'm a workhorse--it's because my family has learned over the years that I'm a OCD pain in the tushie, and will probably redo what they've done, so they might as well just let me do it first! Of course, now that we're alone, it works out that way anyway.... :-)))

bookish

Sue, your tree is gorgeous. No tinsel? :))) [I read somewhere you liked a fully decorated tree with added tinsel.] (pssst, haven't put ours up yet. Tomorrow!]

suemarie

Thanks, Ardy and gogogo--I think I put on more lights than all 3 of my adult children do on their trees put together! :-)))

gogogo

I like this photo of your tree and your busy dog, suemarie. :-))
Have read the posted comments with interest.

ringleader

Looks lovely just like that, Bonnie. You have provided extra entertainment for dog. My Siamese liked to lie down under the tree and bat the ornaments that were on the lowest branches. We made sure to put unbreakable ones there. Thanks.

suemarie

Our comments crossed, Rainy_Day--I'm sorry to hear about your father. I lost mine 26 years ago, and he was just a year older than I am now--it's frightening how old that seemed to me then and how young it seems now...... I can commiserate with your daughter--I think they're right up there with childbirth in pain, but the end result isn't nearly as rewarding....

I hope that you and your family also have a good Christmas, even in your sadness--I know your faith gives you comfort, and I certainly wish that for you.

suemarie

Well, if you're a termite, it is.....

She was taking it away from the tree, and I have no idea where she was heading with it--and I doubt that she knew, either! The one place she "nests" is in a crate in our bedroom. We don't make the dogs (we have 2 labradoodles) sleep in it, but they alternate during the night (the other spot is our bed). In that crate, we have a "sheepskin" mat, and she will spend 5 minutes straight digging at it before she settles down. It doesn't move, mind you--or, at most, she manages to lift a corner briefly--but she's determined to scratch away until she's satisfied it's just the way she wants it (or she finally exhausts herself, whichever comes first...!), :-D

lelabugosi

Oh, I see....not edible, then.

megabelle2000

maybe she was making a “nest” to sleep under the tree?

suemarie

LOL, 3wishes and Bonnie! She's a good girl, and I'm sure she won't (fingers crossed...)!

That is a wooden wind-dangler thingy, lela--which should be outside, but we knew the squirrels would chew it to pieces (well, it's already pieces, but you know what I mean...), as they have every wooden birdhouse or ornament we've tried to keep outside. Our daughter gave it to us (we love wind chimes and gongs and such)--it's small pieces of driftwood strung on a cord, and it would look pretty dancing in the breeze...if there were one....

lelabugosi

What on earth is that thing in front of the window, that looks like a giant Shashlik?

manicpuzzler

Pretty, Suemarie. I ditto 3wishes about the yellow snow! :))
