What exploderator and GrandmaKnitter said.

Thank you for sharing your personal experiences with Mount St. Helens, they mean more than the picture to me :) I also share your appreciation for nature, I think I would say the forest is what I consider sacred, it is my temple, real instead of supernatural (whatever that word really even means, perhaps "imaginary"?). I grew up in the forest, it is my home, and I hope to never have to leave except for playful vacations.

The recovery Mt. St. Helens is making is amazing to me. Fireweed blooming and Indian paint brush. when the plants die down in the fall their remains will be enriching the lava/sandy soil that the eruption dumped on the area. We toured the area 1 yr after eruption, then again 10 years later. I thought the recovery was astonishing. In 10 yrs the elk had returned and a cow elk was calving the day I was there. Nature is amazing to me. Thank you so much for this wonderful picture exploderator.
