She was a true paragon.

Jumble

She did Pat. Apparently The Queen sends messages of congratulations for Diamond (60th), 65th and Platinum (70th) wedding anniversaries and every year thereafter. Her Majesty also arranges messages for 100th, 105th birthdays and every year thereafter.

patsquire

Yes indeed, what a treasure. And to me, it's another example of the countless unheralded ways she reached out to people in a personal manner.

Jumble

You are welcome Andrew.
You are so lucky, I thought the only people who received a card from the Queen was on their 100th birthday. Congratulations on your 60th wedding anniversary. That card is so special, and definitely a keeper.

Andrew2

Thanks for sharing this lovely picture with us.
My wife and I received a greetings card from the Queen to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. The lovely card arrived two days before she died.

Jumble

Zookie, this Lady is one of a kind, we will be at a loss when she goes.
Thank you for your comment.

Zookie2Shot

Extraordinary woman. Watching "history" via the show The Crown

Jumble

Sleep tight Pat. ☺

patsquire

I too would prefer to see William take the throne with Kate by his side. But I don't pretend to understand English succession so I just wait and watch from afar.

Have you heard that in the Arab world, the conspiracy theories revolve around the death, not of Diana, but of Dodi Fayed and that Diana just happened to be in the car when he was assassinated? I guess it all just depends on your perspective. I'm turning in now. Enjoy your day. ☺

Jumble

I can except Charles, but not his wife, though I would prefer William and Kate to be the next in line to the throne. Harry was truly traumatized by his mothers death, and that made him bitter. Markle has made that bitterness worse and turned Harry against his family, I hope he never regrets that, though I think he would be too stubborn to admit it.

patsquire

I feel the same way. But I have confidence that she has planned her succession well, and that her plan will be implemented. I just hope that Simpson woman, er, I mean that Markle woman doesn’t try to make a publicity spectacle out of herself.

Jumble

You and me both Pat, I dread the day, sorry I don't even want to think about it.

patsquire

Like a lot of us colonials, I think she's really something. I repect her tremendously.

Jumble

I think that is really lovely of you seeing as she isn't the Head of your Country.

patsquire

I have her framed portrait on my wall, Irene, here in Tennessee, USA.

Maree86

Such a beautiful photo of our Queen. I always think that blue is her colour, although pink comes a close second.I really feel for her these days, with all her aches and pains. Old age isn’t always much fun and you can see that she is really suffering. But despite that she is still doing her best and carrying on with a brave smile! Thank you for posting such a lovely photo. ❤️

jals

Izzie,
My oldest will be 41 this year. This month, actually. lol And he just gets more dear with each passing year. The other two are 34, and 38. And they all bring me joy.

Jumble

I have exactly the same as you Judy, my son gave me problems in his early twenties, we got through it, now he's 42 married with 2 great children and very successful in business thank goodness. Your right we don't have the whole world watching.

jals

You've got a point, Izzie. I know mine had their problems but in the end, it all works out alright. And thankfully, the whole world isn't watching what I do or how I handle it. ;-)

Jumble

Isn't that a Mother does Judy, I think all Mother's are like that.

jals

She always seems like a wonderful person, fulfilling her duties and loving her family despite their abhorrent behavior.

:)

Jumble

Thank you GT. My sentiments entirely the Paddington Bear bit showed what a wonderful sense of humour HRH has, I enjoyed that so much, I have just posted a puzzle on them with the link.

globetrotter14

I watched the party at the Palace, really enjoyed it and loved the Paddington bear bit. The concert was well organised and seemed to run seamlessly

Jumble

Excellent well worth watching later.

CJ45

Will do Izzy. Midday here so not in the lovely sun but will be later

Jumble

I know you are having a good holiday Clive, but try and catch up with it when you get home, it's well worth watching.

CJ45

Sadly no Izzy.

Jumble

Did anyone see on TV the Party at the Palace last night on BBC1?

jals

I have noticed that before, Izzie. She is always put together, perfectly.

Jumble

Thank you Clive and Judy, yes blue really suits the Queen, When she is out mingling with the crowds, she does like to wear bright colours so she is noticed.

Jumble

Yes Ellen, poor little Prince Louis, children's hearing is so sensitive at that age, he must have found it deafening.

jals

She is really something!
Beautiful blue color.
God save the Queen!

CJ45

A very nice picture of our lovely Queen Izzy, so thank you.

PutterDutt

It was amusing to see her great grandson plugging his ears when the jets flew over.

Jumble

Thank you all for your comments. It's been a wonderful day full of Royal Pomp and Pageantry. Celebrations will be going on all weekend.
You are right Ellen, there will never be another one like The Queen, unfortunately she is really suffering with her mobility which restricts her attending a lot of events, but she did manage to make it twice onto the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

globetrotter14

That's a good picture of her

Just watching God bless the queen lovely to see Kate's children saving in the coach

nanab

This is a lovely photo of the Queen.
I was watching early this morning and enjoyed learning more about her younger years. Thank you.

And still going.

PutterDutt

There will never be another like her. God bless the Queen.

Jumble

I remember seeing it on the news about her coronation. I was in the 3rd grade.

starlord

Thanks jum.... Will have to check it out if we can receive that channel...

Minibank

Congrats to your Queen, have a great 4 Day party 🎉🍾

Jumble

The Trooping of the Colour is on BBC today at 10am till 1.15pm today. There is lots more over the weekend.

starlord

Three cheers for her Majesty, even though she didn't invite me in when I was standing in front of Buckingham Palace some weeks ago.
And she was in, the flag was waving :-)
Can you tell me which broadcasting station transmits the festivities live? I checked the programmes on BBC 1 and BBC 2, but I didn't see it
