Sounds good, Sarah! Church on Christmas Eve and then back here for a quiet evening with the 2 of us. Christmas Day we will have dinner here and all the kids and their families will be here. Then they'll stay and we'll open gifts, maybe play a game or two and they'll all leave.
I will sleep over at my daughter's house Christmas eve (I work 8-6 on the eve) and then we will go together to my nephew's in Massachusetts for Christmas dinner. Whats on your agenda?
Sarah, That will be welcome, won't it? It's been up to almost 50 here I think. I just checked. Internet says it was 55° here today. I was stuck in the house so didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked. What are you doing for Christmas?
Thank you Suzy. We were visiting my cousin and his wife and as I looked out that morning, I knew I needed to get out there and take some photos. The first trip out, I didn't even bother with a coat. We were getting ready to leave and head home that morning, but photos first! lol
Sarah, You win the prize for coldest! I hope you are all toasty and cozy now!
Thanks Bobbie. She likes to complain but they have been having a bad run of luck, mostly from a poor decision, but I would still like to cheer her up. lol I'll bet I would have thought it was warm there today. :-)
Brrrrrrrrrrrr, this is how I felt all day, should have brought along a sweater but usually the older people have the heat turned up too high!!! Oh well. It's 15F right now with a real feel of 4!
Hi Judy, hope your sister feels better. We were 47 today, I had to put on a jacket with a hood to go to the mailbox. To cold for me. Have a nice night. :)
Thanks Bobbie! It was in the 40's here today so lovely, I didn't need a coat when we ran to the Post Office. I finally got all my Christmas cards mailed along with a little ornament for my sister. I hope it cheers her up, she's not having the best time right now.
Hey Judy, I'm not in Hot Oz at the moment but enjoying winter southern CA style; ie NO snow or frost! I keep an eye on the temps back home and appreciate it here even more :-)
A few corncobs in the wood stove and the youngest had to empty the chamber pot that was under the bed. The one in the middle of the bed was always the warmest. The one, who wet the bed, always was on the edge near the chamber pot.
I’ve heard stories about my husbands father growing up in Winner, SD. All the kids slept in one bed to keep warm, and the first one up had to build the fire. :-)
Thanks Watchman. This is actually in South Dakota about 6 weeks ago. It could be a scene from Nebraska though, very similar. Nowhere near enough to hear church bells, but I'm glad it brought that memory to the forefront for you. :-)) Thanks for your apprecation of my photos.
Hi Vips, No, this is actually at my cousin's house in South Dakota. Almost 400 miles north of us. I was born a couple miles from this place and lived there until I was almost 9. :-) We were there for a visit. I hope you aren't having flooding. It seems anymore it's either too much rain or not enough. Thanks for your comment!
Thanks Marina and Cyndi! When I looked out the window that morning, I couldn't resist taking pictures. I went out with just a jacket on I was in such a hurry. :-) Soon after we left, my cousin and his wife headed to Arizona to spend the winter. lol
Thanks Gazbo! I had to look up the conversion. 122°F. Oh my goodness!!! I've never experienced weather that hot. I think 105F is about the hottest I've been in. I can't even imagine. Find a cool place and stay there today! Thanks for the comment!
Juba, This was taken in South Dakota about 6 weeks ago at my cousin's farm. We stayed with them for a few days so my husband could do some pheasant hunting. I was born a few miles from this place.
Photo’s from the Nebraska, such a beautiful sight, to see the frost upon a tree and fence line. Every time I see such I sight, I always wonder if the Church bells are ringing, for many of the days of my youth in Nebraska, scenes like this the Church Bells were ringing in the distance. You are talented in taking photos, Judy. Thank you for sharing them with us. ;-)
Hi Judy. Beautiful photo, is it from where you live? We have had very little frost, in fact it has been a very wet year, and maybe we will have the record as the wettest year. No white Christmas for us. Vips
