During the last week of September this year, I spent the night in Big Timber, Montana. I had planned to go with a friend and take some photos the following morning of the beautiful country side that surrounded that town. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and was cool, dark and cloudy and not very suitable for good photographs. Instead of going very far, we drove up the nearby hill and checked out the airport. We found this nice looking plane preparing for takeoff.

This is beautiful. The mountains in the background are awesome and, of course, the plane is gorgeous. I showed the picture to my son and ask if he had any idea what kind of plane it was and he said, "looks like a Cessna that would be from the 1970s or "80s." :-))) He loves planes and he was right - 1977. Great photo and puzzle. THANK YOU, Terry.

Yikes, Terry! "Big Brother" can verify your statement as to your whereabouts. Might come in handy, if you ever need and alibi!
Dusty : )

Thank you, boston jack! I see unlimited opportunities for fun with this site!!! Occasionally, it might actually be helpful too.

...........for an aircraft, that is not that old......if well maintained, it can go just about forever.......!
...........the average (general aviation) is just over 30 years for an aircraft..........! as a matter of fact, in the far north a lot of aircraft are well over 55 years and they work under harsh conditions all year round...............
...........the pilot on the other hand, should always be questioned..........!

boston jack, I never would have dreamed this plane was 41 years old. Terry

................well, I begin by identifying the aircraft (here it was easy, N762TB) identifying the type (model) of aircraft (here it was again easy, Cessna 421) then I'll check out flight records on "FlightAware Tracker" (must register with FlightAware) this will give me all flight records of any given aircraft for the pass three months..........(the owner, pilot or flight dispatcher must register a flight plan)...........all this can give me the planes activity...........
.............don't forget George Orwell's 1984 Big Brother is watching you...........!
.............and on top of all this I can say that seagirl17 was indeed at the airport in Big Timber on September 27th in the afternoon........!............a little unsettling, isn't it.........!

OH, amazing!!! Boston_jack, can you share where you found this information? Nancy

...............this is a 1977 Cessna 421C Reg. N762TB owned by Airborne Enterprises LLC Atherton, Ca.
left Santa Rosa (KSTS) at 10:31 hrs and arrived in Big Timber (6S0) on September 27th at 13:27 hrs
..............last flight was yesterday from Santa Rosa, Ca. to Sacramento, Ca...........

Terry, this is an excellent photo--the owner of the plane would probably like to have a print! Nancy
