Oh yes. I forgot about that call. For several years I didn't have credit card debt. But then medical issues started running them up when I couldn't afford to buy my insulin or one of my diabetic medicines. It didn't take long. After that, it was large house repair bills.
I am slowly getting each card paid off but still will not fall for those debt relief calls.
I haven't heard the one that lowers your medicare. Can that even happen? I love how we finally get a ss raise (however small) and our medicare payments go up to the same amount.

I have a friend who writes letters and sends cards. My handwriting has gotten so bad I don't want to write anything now. Now I find it an effort to pay the two bills I can't pay online by check. I may get around to writing the check, then I dawdle with the envelope. Then more dawdling to get it stamped and into the mailbox. I am a mess.

The elderly get forgotten so easily once they go into nursing care. And it won't be too many years and it will be us. I stayed in touch with a cousin for years. She liked to email when her handwriting was no longer easily legible.

The DNA testing is interesting. All my life I knew about my German heritage on my mother's side. I was first-generation American. I had documents and genealogy going back several hundred years. Then there was a gap between the 1400s and 1600s my mother was working to piece together.
My father's side was only documented back to Canada.
When the results came back there was no German DNA. It showed my ancestors as Irish, British, Norwegian and Italian. Even a slight bit of middle eastern. Quite a shock for a genealogy of blonde blue eyes. I get the Norwegian since it was said my grandfather was of Danish/German heritage. Since Germany was once part of the Holy Roman Empire I thought that maybe where the 'Italian' DNA came from.
My daughter did her DNA and showed 50/50 as she should. Which I teased that it proved I was her mother.
All her life people would say she looked just like Dan's side and not at all like me.
I find genealogy very interesting especially because my mother had done most of the work on her side.

Oh that is so funny. You sound just like me with phones.

My daughter and granddaughter shamed me into letting go of my flip phone which I also used just for emergencies and when I was on the road.

When my granddaughter upgraded I got her phone. She has meanwhile upgraded two more times but I keep the first one.

I really prefer email but I am learning to text which seems to be the only way I can communicate with my daughter and granddaughter. Sometimes I just wish I could hear their voices instead.

I hate talking on the phone ... on any phone ... unless it is family. I hate when the house phone rings because it is 99% robocalls or sales pitches or scams.

My favorite scam call is "You are delinquent on your student load. Please call this number blah blah blah."
I have to laugh. It has been 31 years since we graduated from college and his student loan was paid the first 5 years. I was lucky my dad saved so I never had a student loan.
I know that they are trying to get your social security number. I am savvy on the scams at least.

It is sad how people will try to rip you off. Especially seniors. And so many seniors do get ripped off of their life savings.

old and ancient ... I use to be computer savvy and considered learning to program. Now I barely know how to use my iPhone except to send messages. LOL I had to ask my hubby how to make a phone call on it the other day.

I don't like updates either. Especially on my phone. I hope jigidi gets it all fixed soon.
I have had that allow flash player message for months before this new situation started.

frustrating when your computer gets messed up isn't it

I don't like Ipads, Laptops, or iPhones. I prefer my old and ancient desktop computer. Especially for puzzles.

Jigidi is moving towards a new system, software? engine? algorithm? I don't know what to call it. All I know is Flashplayer comes up 'blocked' and I have to keep 'unblocking' at their address in the google bar. That has been going on for months.

A week ago they announced this new thing and I accepted it.
No problems. The other day it started doing this full screen with no way to exit, go back to jigidi, google or my google toolbars. It takes several times to use the control alt delete.

I can still do puzzles, it is just not functioning correctly to get out of the puzzle.
I hope they straighten it out soon.
I will try to post puzzles with you and several others so you can do them on your other computers.

take care

working on it thanks

I see you on the leaderboard. I don't even try anymore.

I had a bit of trouble with the 'new' system jigidi is doing. I get locked into a full-screen version with no escape except the control alt delete method. Yikes, I hope they fix it soon. Meanwhile, I have opted to go back to the flash player method.

hope all is well with you too

hugs coming right back at you!
