You're going to the desert for your vacation and I'm going to Alaska.

You're welcome. It is really good.

CJ45

Oh Judy I have never seen passion fruit juice.

jals

I would try it. I like passion fruit juice.

CJ45

I am going to try and grow these from seed just for the fun of it.

kansasgranny

Thanks for all the info. Guess that explains why I've never seen one in the grocery store or had the chance to "try" one.
I try to stick to known, vouched for plants, particularly ones found in the wild. When we have so much available, why take chances?

crashnot

Yep, I saw this one too. Since there are warnings about the safety of eating them, I wouldn't take the chance, unless I was desperate. I've eaten bugs so I'm never opposed to trying weird stuff but safety is always a concern. We used to collect mushrooms until an expert mistakenly ate a poisonous one which is nearly identical to the ones we were eating. It's difficult to tell the difference between the "horse" mushroom and one almost identical which is extremely poisonous. We decided to stick with the grocery store for our mushrooms unless we find a rare morel which is easily identified.

Nor me I have to say, I will try and look this up later as I have to go out for a couple of hours.

Jumble

It doesn't look tempting enough for me to eat it.

CJ45

Hi kansasgranny, I am afraid I do not know the plant is in family garden. I have Passion flowers in my own garden but they never bare fruit. Passion fruit as we know it is a green fruit with black seeds.
So I am none the wiser. Hopefully a jigidier may be able to help us ?

kansasgranny

I have never had one of these, but the fruit inside looks a lot like a pomegranate. Are they related or similar in other ways?
