tee hee...you'll just have to wait until tomorrow! (Don't want to commit on a public forum...could have egg on my face in front of the whole world!) Keep smiling and give Maggie hugs and cuddles for me! Michelle
Wow! If that would be......I would love it!!! I have been very curious, too. If so, is it at the university like you suspected? If not, the University has many gorgeous buildings, anyway! Can't wait to find out, Jan :D
Good Morning, Jan (?). I think I may have "found" it on the web but will verify when I go downtown tomorrow. If the weather is clement, I may take a pic and post for you. I believe that the "see through" look is lighting from the angle of the sun. We'll see for sure later! Smile! Michelle
Hi Puzzaddled. I just spent 1/2 hour trying to recreate my Google search (I always use Google) to no avail. I must have found this image while searching for something else (as often happens to me). I usually title the photo with the place of origin and more details, if available. So, this one must have just said Toronto.
In tonight's search, I found lots of buildings around the U of Toronto that have the same "flavor" as this one.
But, the more I look at it, the more it looks like a facade only, not a real building. None of the other buildings had that "see through it" look. So.....
Sorry I can't tell you more, darn it.
Hi, JB. Can I ask from where you got this pic? Living in Toronto, I'm sure it's not Casa Loma but it does, indeed, look familiar. I do think it is real: we have many old buildings and homes (some that have been converted to public uses) that would fit the bill. Until I "solve" this, it's going to drive me batty (not a long drive, at that!). Thx btw: Looks like it might be somewhere in or around the University of Toronto campus.
Robbie - I thought it looked like a too-perfect set piece for a fairy tale movie. (But, then, what if it does exist.) It does look like just a facade of a building. However, have you googled the Casa Loma that Berny75 mentioned? It is a fabulous castle!
Glad you had fun!!!
Hi Jiggy, I enjoyed solving this one, it was a lot of fun. It is a beautiful scene but I don't think it is real. This is just an outside wall looking........outside/inside! The windows look too perfect, the stone too shiny and the light globe through the right window looks out of place. Well who cares........as Hanne said, great for a fairytale! Thanks for the fun.
Berny75 - the photo only identified it as autumn in Toronto. I just googled Casa Loma and while there is definitely a strong similarity, the arched windows didn't look quite the same to me. But, I don't know for sure. :)
Casa Loma looks less "aged" or "rustic" to me, too.
