Oh that's fantastic Clive! I got along with my mother-in-law fine during the 10 yrs. I dated my husband, and even while we were married (because I had too)...but when we divorced..I never missed her. ☺ (I DO miss my father-in-law though! A GREAT guy who got on with everybody! and he looks like the cartoon character 'David the Gnome' LOL!) So glad you have all good memories of your in-laws! ☺

CJ45

Oh Lori, Inlaws / outlaws I found my wife's Mum and Dad and their friend's and family really nice even my Mum and Dad went on holidays with her Mum and Dad so there we go. Sadly they are all gone now but we can still see them all on film enjoying there self's with each other on their holidays together. Seams strange but it does work it did for us. LOL!!!

farrell

well, clearly jigidi likes to 'shuffle' today...I agree Maggie...Middle names put the "oopmh" in it...

farrell

No, he really is a nice guy...just very difficult circumstances at the time, we still talk occasionally, and go out to dinner once a year (just NOT with his mother!) ha ha

MaggieMay_MMM

That's what I'm missing -- middle names for my cats! Have to have that second name for effect (it's not like they listen any better). But, ya, it's like when parents are really upset at you and out comes your whole name. I think it's one of the requirements of parenthood. Thanks, Vt..for reminding me!

CJ45

I take it that you did not like him then, sorry Thee Hee again. Trying not to be naughty (NOT).

CJ45

I am Shaw you are correct Lori. Thee Hee.

farrell

Better than euthanasia.....(lol)

CJ45

Oh, Dear, Lori did you give your husband away then, I am so shocked!!!

farrell

I almost fell over laughing at your line "I lied and said a husband." tee-hee-hee! (I've had both, and I'm with you!) Cats are easier. ☺ Hope you have a great night as well! ~ and thanks for that laugh! ~~ Lori

Vtsnowangel

lol, I don't think I can match with your cats named after a racehorse or beer can.
I was allergic to cats as a child but outgrew it.
When I was younger, I guess my doctor thought I was too attached to my cat. He asked if I had to choose between "a husband" or my cat, what would I choose? I lied and said a husband. What I was really thinking was... I wouldn't mind both but I also would never give up my cat. He will just have to take allergy tablets.
I will hug my Bailey for you! Have a great evening, Lori!

farrell

with all these names...i think is is 'kismet' or 'serendipity'..I just checked the cat I have now "Tiger's" original papers, and she was once called "Bailey" ! ...and "Lori" & "MaggieMay"...it is too funny! I once had a big white long-haired cat maned "Ruffian-Pilsner"...after the racehorse my father lost $ on, and "Pilsner" from his beer-can! ☺ I always give my cats middle names...and also mostly use it when 'scolding'..hahaha! (But i can never do it with a straight face!) I bet 'Bailey' still misses 'MaggieMay' and doesn't want to share with an imposter. When you have 2, and lose 1, it can be hard to introduce another...I tried too...did NOT work. Guess its the same with people, can never 'replace' anyone. ☺ Give "Bailey-Bug" a hug from me! ☺☺☺

Vtsnowangel

Me, too, Lori, me too!! My apartment holds only two cats and Bailey refuses to share with another cat. I tried and she pined away refusing to eat or even respond to me. I spoke with people who worked a lot with cats and they said she is happier being the only cat.
I get attached to the cats I trap. Each one has a unique personality and you can see in their eyes the sadness. I don't need to tell you, I know you know. Most the cats I trapped were put in loving homes. The feral ones when to a farm with people who fed and vaccinated them. And I thought 30 was a large amount!
Oddly enough, my nick name is Lori, lol. Here I thought it was eerie when my white cat's name was "Maggie May". I don't know why I add a middle name. I think it comes when you scold them just like children. For Bailey, I call her Bailey Bug.

farrell

Vt. -- I was involved with a group catching feral cats in a city where my sister lived (Boston suburb)...we caught over 100 cats, and the very sick ones were euthanized as well, but many were given shots & fixed & put back in that neighborhood. I cried EVERY time! Good or bad. - I love cats too! (The shelters are over-flowing right now ...wish I had more space & money! I'd take as many as I could!) ☺ fellow cat lover ~ Lori

CJ45

Hi ,Vtsnowangel I find it very hard to comment, but carry on with your wonderfull work.

Vtsnowangel

Thank you, Farrell!
I do love cats. I have trapped, homed, and euthanized over 30 cats, left behind by college students, with help from a local animal group. The very, very ill had to be put to sleep. I become attached to every one I catch and cry when the animal group comes and picks them up.

CJ45

Oh well Lori, I also know Patricia has problems with messages as well will have to wait and see what happens. Thanks for coming back.

farrell

Hi Clive..I was informed that 'pamis' left comment...but not you? [I see a msg from you but not 'pamis']...things have been a lil' weird for me too, about msg.s & notifications. ???

CJ45

Should have said pamis.

CJ45

hi Lori, maggie and pammis commented on this puzzle but jigidi seems to not informed me. Been having trouble for a few days now. let me know if you receive this message. Thanks Clive.

farrell

'nos ta' is Welsh for "good night" {and 'twmffat' is Welsh for "idiot" scroll down} ☺ Had to take 2 pain pills today, I'm sort of 'addle-brained' today. (sorry if I left anyone 'hanging'...I'll be fit-as-a-fiddle tomorrow!!!) ☺

MaggieMay_MMM

Thanks, Lori! I had almost forgotten about it until this topic came up! Ya, it was really something. Um...can you share what 'nos ta' means cuz I can't find it anywhere--you know me and my curiosity. No hurry...I'm the real patient type! xxx

farrell

Wow Maggie, that 'dog with the bones' story is SO touching! How sweet & intelligent! Love it!

'nos ta' Clive...see you tomorrow!

MaggieMay_MMM

I have no doubt about that, Clive. I forget now what TV show it is I follow (it might just be "Person of Interest" - I watch so many of that genre), but the good guy is going after the bad guy. Bad guy is tough, but he needs to sic his monster of a German Shepherd on the bad guy. He's about to let go of the leash when good guy starts speaking to the dog in German, and the dog turned and pounced on his "master." Seems the dog had been highly trained as a guard/attack dog--but he was trained in the German language. HA! Take that buddy! lol

CJ45

Oh, Wow, Maggie that is incredible. I also know that animals can understand the language that their owners say as I have said in many puzzles through jigidi. Even my youngest sons cat when alive only new Greek If you spoke to her in English she would just ignore you.

MaggieMay_MMM

Clive, I never doubted your story for a minute! Animals are extraordinary, and we minimize their capacity for emotion.
Several years ago, my cousin (who was much older than I) told this funny little story: He didn't have any pets, but the dog next door took a liking to him. My cousin (name is Spyll) would pet the dog for a few and then leave him a bone. This went on for quite a while. Then my cousin had to go away for a few days (of course not being available for his little pal), but when he returned, there on his front porch was a pile of bones. The dog had dug them all up and returned them! Spyll figured it was safe to assume the dog was upset at him for leaving. True story.

CJ45

Hi Lori, I am pleased for the happy ending as well but so sad for the dog. Next time leave the dog in the house.

CJ45

Hi Maggie, just like to assure people that I am telling the truth.
And yes delightful that they got a new kitten but the people were quite old as well add 18 years of their cats live to there's, LOL!!!

farrell

Mags, I still have my old phone that works well enough to call for 'the Ride' with 199 min.s...so I'm not w/o a phone as of yet....but Joe posted a pic of 'Buffet' and now, I am so 'chill' listening to him (full throttle) & lookin' at model train pics...that I just don't want to deal w them right now. ☺ And I also checked out that link Clive...turned out to be heart-warming...thank you ♥

MaggieMay_MMM

Clive, I just read about it. So touching ... and what a happy ending since they got Oscar a new kitty playmate. Thank you, Clive!

MaggieMay_MMM

They not only transferred my current minutes, the ADDED a bunch extra (told you they were afraid of me, lol). Hey, hey! nevermind that I "say so" LOL! Curious about why if you wait until next week you'd only have to go a few days v. the weeks like last time. If I can help in any way, let me know. A woman needs her phone, duh!!

farrell

Thanks Mags! I seriously have anxiety over it! I hope they transfer my current minutes! (Last time they did not and I went weeks w/o a phone!) I was thinking I should wait until next week, that way I'll only be w/o a phone for a few days!) ...but if you say so...

MaggieMay_MMM

Oh, don't worry, LORI--getting the phone is more than half the battle. Compared with that, having it activated is a breeze. THAT they can handle! If they give you a hard time, drop my name--they're afraid of me, lol!

farrell

Oh..yes Clive, just saw it now! Thank you! (sorry, I am a little disorganized today!) I'm a 'twmffat"

MaggieMay_MMM

I saw that, Clive; I'm just gearing up emotionally to view the article. These sorts of things choke me up so much. It was so nice of you to share that. I'll be heading to it soon...

CJ45

Did you see my link below, Lori that I left every one about the dog and the cat?

farrell

Hey Maggie! I actually just rec'd my new cell phone by FedEx..didn't open it yet. I have to contact THAT Co., and I always dread that! ☺ I, too looked at pics of Vt.'s 'Bailey' and 'Maggie'...so adorable! I just love cats! their sweetness, antics, shennanigans, and 'tudes'...'Mikey' & 'Micah' sound like a ton of fun too! I have always had cats, (one time 13 at once...but not for a long time)...mom's & their kittens. ...(still hoping to keep 'Tiger')...~ Lori

MaggieMay_MMM

Lori, lol! Good guess, but no. If my cats could have seen/heard me the day I spoke with SL for the, no kidding, 8th or 9th time, they would have bolted! Let's just say my claws finally showed themselves with those people! Grr... (here's where I could use *that* emoticon, lol)...

MaggieMay_MMM

Vtsnowangel, I just visited your profile and saw your adorable picture. Strange that you Maggie is the spitting image of my cat Micah! And Micah is so sweet and gentle--except he's literally like a wild tiger the way he snatches a morsel of food out of our hands. I would expect Crazy Mikey to do that, but no! he's gentle as can be. I never grew up with cats, but boy I'm sure getting to know a lot about their many unusual behaviors. They definitely are interesting creatures. Thanks for sharing your profile pic. ~ Maggie (of the human variety)!

CJ45

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sfl-mtblog-2008-06-dog_retrieves_buried_body_of_h-story.html
Silly me forgot to paste the link. LOL!!!

CJ45

Dear all, here is the link.

farrell

Maggie, perchance were you talking to 'Safe**nk' ? (Impossible!) I always talk to my cats! ☺

farrell

Clive, that story IS heart-breaking!!!! :(

farrell

That's a beautiful picture Vtsnowangel! Thanks for sharing your memories and photos! ♥♥♥

Vtsnowangel

My profile picture of Maggie and me!

Vtsnowangel

My Maggie was named after the Simpson's baby because she made sucking sounds when she slept. I actually called her "Maggie May".
Oh, you reminded me about how Maggie use to push an object over the edge. She would move it ever so slightly, pause, look at me and chatter, then continue a little more, pause, look at me, chatter and then down it went. I use to scold her but it became funny to me and I would laugh at her instead.
What CJ45 said about dog made me sad. Poor thing just couldn't part from his best friend.

MaggieMay_MMM

Whoa, Clive. That is an amazing story, but then dogs never cease to amaze me with their powers! That little kitty had to have been his pet! Aww...sad. Thanks for that one, Clive...with appreciation ~ OGO ~

CJ45

Oh great one, sorry Maggie many moons ago not on jigidi any more I posted a dog who dug up the family's cat that had died and they had buried it in their garden. The dog after digging the dead cat up liked her clean and put her in the dogs basket and growled when the family tried to take her out of the dogs basket so sad.

MaggieMay_MMM

That is such a touching story, Vt...I did a double take when I first saw the kitty's name!

And, Lori, I totally agree--pets absolutely can sense our emotions. My Mikey, I swear, looks for trouble. If he hasn't been fed at the very minute he desires, he goes around and knocks down all the flower vases. I have seen him deliberately jump up, lift his paw, look back at me and take a swipe. Grr.. He does not care if I get upset with him. Micah, on the other hand, you give him one of those "what are you doing!" looks and he bolts. I never used to be a cat person, preferring dogs, but after living with these two for almost 8 years now, I have to say I love cats.
Not too long ago, I was on the phone with a particularly irritating customer service rep (there's an oxymoron), and on and on the issue went, until I lost my cool and yelled something at her and hung up. Both cats were on the windowsill looking out at who knows what, and they turned in sync and gave me a look. Without thinking, I stared back and said, "What?"! Yup...

MaggieMay_MMM

Oh, OK, Clive ~ I'll settle for that, lol!

farrell

I am sorry you lost your 'Maggie'...and I really believe in 'pet-sense'. Some folks think its crazy, but I know our pets can sense our emotions, good and bad. "Bailey" sounds lovable and lots of fun! ☺ I lost 2 cats last year, and wasn't 'ready' for another...but "Tiger" was ready for me, so now I really hope I get to keep her! =^..^= (did this with only keyboard!) ☺

Vtsnowangel

My cat is a blessing! I had two cats but my beautiful white angel had cancer and was put to sleep at home in my arms. After she died, Bailey started to act like her. It was the strangest thing. She touches my face with her paw, when I am sad, just like my white cat did. She never quite mastered it and forgets to keep her claws in, lol. I don't scold her, though because she is so sweet. She never stroked my face or came to me when I cried when Maggie was alive. She never crawled on top of me at night to cuddle, it was always Maggie. I miss Maggie so much and I am touched that Bailey has become more affectionate.
Bailey is still Bailey, too. She is very babyish and like to be coddled. She still shoots up the cat tree at top speed. Maggie was more refined and motherly.

CJ45

Thank you, Oh Great One ! but I think Maggie would be nicer. Thank you.

farrell

Maggie, some cats LOVE water...Clive posted an article about an austistic girl & her cat...amazing! (I will try to find!)

farrell

Ha HA HA HA!!! SO TRUE CLIVE!

MaggieMay_MMM

And there we have it, Clive. Perfect, lol!
P. S. You don't have to be so formal, sir--you may address me as Maggie if you like .. or Oh Great One, you know...whatever floats your boat, lol.

CJ45

MaggieMay_MMM, Dogs have friends. CATS have staff so please remember that. LOL!!!

MaggieMay_MMM

I've always wondered why cats have such a disdain for water. Perhaps they don't like the scentl of CAT washed off them. I always thought, aww, look how affectionate this cat is, rubbing up against me and such. Then I read why they do that--they're marking us with their scent, making us part of *their* territory. In effect, they're letting other cats know--by virtue of all those oozing pheromones--that *we* belong to *them*. I like to forget that and go with the "aww..."

CJ45

She shires away from the rain but gets wet when nature calls as it always rains here. Summer started yesterday and today temperatures in the 30's great but tomorrow will be the last of summer as it will get back to normal so the weather experts claim nice while it lasted. LOL!!!

farrell

Oh,Clive (lol!) I just LOVE cats! (What about Rowley? Does she like water? My Maine Coon 'Foley' hated water, but her kitten 'Lucy' drank water from the kitchen sink only! (fun)

CJ45

Hi lori, just watched the video excellent guys. Cats normally do not like water but can swim. Maine Coon cats love to swim as do wild Tigers. I am sure if I took my Mollie to a lake she would jump in as she loves the rain and comes in socking wet to jump all over us just to be naughty. LOL!!!

farrell

aw shucks Mags....thnx! Amanda/Joe/Gabe left 4 Vineyard...I'm ALL about jigidi now! C' ya @ Joes!

MaggieMay_MMM

Lori, whatever happened to the cat image in "color." That was cool ~ I need to steal me a copy, 'k?

farrell

Vtsnowangel...I just learned how to copy/paste images..and it is fun! If you scroll down to copy/paste instructions ... it is here. It took me a few tries, then I went nuts with it! But, I know there is a 'cat face' you can make with just your keyboard keys too. I will find Jeri & ask her, then I will post it here for you later. O.K.? [A 13 year old tabby, I bet she's a great companion, too!] ☺ Lori

MaggieMay_MMM

Your expertise, dear woman, is finding and combining emoticons. Jeri may have taught you, but now you're running with it. You are just being modest, lol!

farrell

Thanx Maggie..I will take you up on that 'camera, advice as soon as I get one...and I am NOT an expert! (ha ha) Still trying to figure it all out! Jeri taught me how to copy/paste..and she 'created a monster'! ☺☺☺

farrell

Andie...I just LOVE Artus! Thank You! ♥ He must be such a great companion...and I know GS's can pick up on human emotions very quickly..give him a big hug from me!♥ (And one for you too!)~Lori

farrell

My pleasure Pamis! ~ Lori

farrell

NO sport Dilubreuer!...these men saved these kittens. So sweet! ♥

MaggieMay_MMM

Vt...Lori is the resident expert on emoticons. She'll set you right up!

MaggieMay_MMM

So, Morris -- how did poor little Rudy end up in the slammer, lol!

Vtsnowangel

I have one 13 year old tabby cat and all I know how to do is
the smiley face that looks like this... :)

MaggieMay_MMM

Lori ~ If you manage to upload a picture, let me know and I'll explain the process for emailing. Easy.

Andie2a1383

Lori ,as you love GS I have posted a photo of mine for you
http://www.jigidi.com/created.php?id=D08EAHZ8

But you are right :they not only Need a lot of room but TAKE a lot of room too !!!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

pamis

Incredible video! TFP

Dilubreuer

Not so good for a sport...

MaggieMay_MMM

OK you guys; it's been real. Now I'm off to watch some poker.

Keep on keepin' on & see y'all in the morrow, lol.

MaggieMay (or..)

farrell

Super-cute morris!
Maggie - I don't have a cell-camera, and would have NO CLUE how to do that...but I bet my 2 yo Gabe could! (thnx for deleting Mags ☺)
I used to have a calico & an 18lb Maine Coon ...would love a German Shephard! (no-go : small apt)

morris186

The one in jail is Rudy, my Cat.
Gabby is my Mom's Cat.

MaggieMay_MMM

All gone! Grr..

MaggieMay_MMM

Aww...sad about the owner dying, but Tiger will most certainly have a good home with you. I'm glad you get to keep her! Keep me posted on how she's doing. Can you attach a pic to email?

Enough time has passed that if Jigidi was going to swoop down and scoop up all the naughty stuff, I guess they would have by now. Going to remove now (reluctantly, I might add).

farrell

who was the cat in the 'jailhouse' morris? And 'Gabby'? calico? (both adorable BTW)

farrell

I have 1 loner cat "Tiger" ("yes" she's a tiger cat ...and "no" I didn't name her.) Her owner died a few weeks ago... neighbor/friend. His nephew came to pick her up while I was in Maine, but my nephew wouldn't give her to him.(guy was drunk/stoned) Then, was supposed to come on Saturday, never called or showed-up. Guess she's a keeper! (I hope) ...and that cat was up for a while on a private puzzle, I don't know how long on this one!

MaggieMay_MMM

Nah, the name(s) stay. Just waiting for Lori to reply on how long it took them to remove her comment. It's been a while now since I've posted that No-No. Will remove soon -- just uploading pics. Be back...

morris186

you could go under a different name, but what fun would that be. I have be on the jig for 5 years and have seen many changes, but, in my opinion, they are doing a really good job running this site. You can't please all the people all the time.

I have 1 cat, Lori. But he is the size of 3. He's a big boy.

MaggieMay_MMM

I have two cats -- Mikey (8) and Micah (7). Mikey is a tiger, and he's nuts; Micah is pure white and he's sweet and tends to run and hid. You?

Oh, I meant to ask: how long before J deleted the comment/emoticon that started all this -- how long after you posted it -- so I know whether they're ignoring these just now or not. That way I can get rid of them -- not cuz I'm scared of the big J, but out of respect for the "nice" folks. LOL

MaggieMay_MMM

lol Morris.

They are not going to kick you out. We will start a movement, and no one will do puzzles. If you go, I'm gone. We will still have a life, and we will join under pseudonyms. It's all good..."Don't worry, be happy!" ♪♫

farrell

morris, how many cats do you have? Maggie, do you have cats?

farrell

lol! (rebellious Maggie) I deleted icon....If I got kicked out of jigidi right now, sadly, I would have no life! ☺☺☺

morris186

Keep on truckin'!!!

farrell

(⋆ˆ⌣ˆ⋆) It must be! (or cats...or music...then, yep...me too then!)

MaggieMay_MMM

Oh, then it's just you they don't like, that's all...

farrell

I made it

MaggieMay_MMM

OK, that tells you it's a glitch. Wherever you got the icon, it's probably just not the type that works here--just like those other ones.

morris186

I agree with Maggie ... probably is a glitch.

Would have to post the F word comments anonymously, of course. ☺

farrell

NO Mags!!! (funny) ha ha ha ha ha! They deleted the guitar too.

morris186

Strange ....

MaggieMay_MMM

Lori ~ try leaving it there. Could have been a glitch like last night when we posted something totally innocuous. I'll bet their bots aren't programmed to pick up that particular emoticon! I mean c'mon, puzzles bordering on porn are ok? but a cute little kitty? No! I may just plaster the "F" word all over a comment box just to see what happens, lol. Leave it.

farrell

Ya' they do! (I can't believe they deleted my cat...but I can keep this!?) ☺

morris186

Not offensive at all, pretty much sums up a Cats 'tude. That's why they rule!!!!
