In Today's Daily Jigsaw Puzzle, we visit the gorgeous Peles Castle in the southeastern Carpathian Mountains in Romania.

Construction on Peles Castle began in 1873. The castle has three monuments: Peleș Castle, Pelișor Castle, and the Foișor Hunting Lodge, and was constructed for King Carol I (1839–1914), who appreciated the mountainous area. It was inaugurated in 1883 (and stood complete in 1914). Peles was a modern castle as it was the world's first castle fully powered by locally produced electricity.

Royals lived here until 1947 when a new regime took over all royal property. The castle then became open to the public as a tourist attraction for a period but has also served as a recreational place for the lucky chosen ones and then as a museum. Today the magnificent castle is on lease from the royal family to the Romanian state, and some parts of the estate serve as a presidential residence while others are hotels and restaurants and thus open to the public eye.

So, what do you say? Are you in the mood to visit this spectacular palace with us right now? ♥

Wonderful puzzle! Thanks!

I love this castle, even above others that I have seen.

I really like it's setting. I have always been a person who likes woodsey settings.
