Why are you reporting this puzzle?

So, okay, I got one ON the date without scramblin' and apologizin'. Paying homage to your idols is
freaken' hard work!

One of my favorites, born February 5, 1944... I give you Al Kooper, session musician extraordinaire, songwriter, producer, founder of Blood, Sweat, and Tears (when they were good), and manager/producer for Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The first clip is AK with Stephen Stills and Mike Bloomfield on the Super Session album, the second clip is with the original BST, and the third is with Mike Bloomfield and JOHNNY WINTER! And, yes, happy birthday Al Kooper, but, ya know, Johnny Winter... come on!

TIM - I owed you for "Alone Again Or"... glad you had a good day under your bed.

rswestley

Glad you enjoyed "I Stand Alone", BB. And thanks mpp for giving me a ride on your time machine. It's nice to get out of the house and visit old friends

TIM -
I just listened to 'I Stand Alone', that was a first for me. I don't know if it was the images on the video or the song, but I got goosebumps and needed a tissue!
Thanks for sharing.

togocat - thank you. I enjoy finding clips - it's an excuse to listen to stuff forgotten or new to me...

John - nice way to spend a day! The 'I Stand Alone' lp is good, but "I Love You More..." is my favorite. Glad we're fellow fans.

My sister dated BS&Ts trumpet player for a time.

I enjoyed their music.

Al Kooper? Now there's a name I had nearly forgotten. Thanks for dragging some of my sleeping neurons out of bed. I did not know Al Kooper was associated with Blood, Swear and Tears. The first time I heard David Clayton Thomas I packed my bags and bought a ticket back to the British Invasion. Please please please... no more "Spinning Wheel". Thank you for taking mercy on our ears. But Al Kooper? Now there was a gem. May be a bit too mainstream for the wild child of our group, but "I Stand Alone" was a masterpiece. I'll be back tomorrow... I now have an unplanned trip to under my bed with YouTube, ear buds and Al Kooper. Wish me luck.. I'm hoping Al Kooper's music hath charms to sooth the savage bed bugs- thanks for the memories...

Oh how I love this song...

I look forward to your clips and appreciate the time you put into finding them. Taking me down memory lane, but also showing me new (to me) treasures. Tx...

msbonne

Yes, I believe their parents had matching (yet opposite) shirts for them.

For those of you who listen to my clips, on this and the Fillmore posters, you have my eternal gratefulness...

sloth - there's a picture of AK wearing a tee shirt that says "Al, not Alice"... whatcha gonna do..?

togocat

The 3d track is awesome..... thanks.

msbonne

And Al and Alice were at one time brother and sister.

But, lest we forget, Al Kooper is also amazing...

nanab - thank you so much!!! I think AK's version is the best. I'm so glad you listened and enjoyed.

Juba - I am jealous and mad at myself. Johnny played in SFO when I lived there and I didn't try to go. No excuse, just laziness and the belief there would always be another chance. He was amazing...

nanab

I went with the; "If you don't listen to anything else, give this a shot... "
"I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know"
Time well spent! : ) Thanks mpp.

Juba1010

I got to see Johnny and Edgar in concert back in the day. :-)
