I'll only be away for 3 weeks - spending the last one with a friend near Perth. I have cousins in South Island New Zealand and love visiting there but am hoping to 'do' North Island in 2018. :)
We went in January for 3 weeks..... left home in a blizzard...... It was a trip of a lifetime, we went to Australia and both north and south islands of New Zealand! :o)
How kind, nette10, thank you. What time of year did you go? The Travel company suggested buying netting when I get there. I'm also taking a can of Jungle Deet. Still, for the once-in-a-lifetime experience I'm sure I can manage.
We were warned about the flies..... some people brought hats with mosquito netting....... we never saw a fly, hope you will be so lucky! :o)
Just as I envied my mother in 1984 - but she didn't warn me about the miriads of flies one can expect to encounter, so the trip may be a double-edged sword.
I envy you, going to the land down under
Going there next March. Pleased to hear there's an escalator!
Right on, PD. Easy does it :-)
Starlord, I'd have been with you on the elevator. Robbos, what kind of vitamins are you on???
You all traveled the world :-)Thanks for the additional info, Robbos. I would have taken the escalator :-)))
Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory in central Australia.Been there, did the walk to the top also☺☺
Never say never starlord. I have been there also and this rock certainly has a mystical feel about it.
I never saw it, Nette. And I probably never will :-(
Have been to see this wonderful place...... this a grand photo of it! :o)
