It must have to do with its texture. The ferns also seem to be pretty well frosted.

Thanks Bill. Can't rationalize how this tree can be covered in hoarfrost and the others have very little. Another of mother nature's mysteries.

Artists Statement: This little frost-heavy sapling was captured at the very start of a long project exploring Sherwood Forest. Its dazzling form stood out in a small clearing surrounded by silver birch and bracken ferns.
