Janine, it is such a lovely art form. If I remember, this one was from Russia. Lots of colours and details. Glad you enjoyed it. I would love to have the talent to paint something like this!
I love the old tole paintings too. Years ago (1960's) when I had my Antiques shop, I knewa lady that did restoration on toleware. She also did new pieces at the time. So now thoseare probably priceless too. She also taught tole painting at the local community college.I love the pastels on your piece Pink.....very pretty.....thank you dear. Janine.

Poodle,I couldn't remember the name of this process, other than tole painting when I posted it, but the bargeware I googled was all brown and this was the description of bargeware : A dark brown, glazed EARTHENWARE with white clay relief patterns, produced in Derbyshire, c.1860-1910.
