Portrait of T. Trofimova, 1915 - by Alexander Vakhrameev. / 20th Century Women I seem to "know".
Why are you reporting this puzzle?
Some 20th century portrait painters have captured their female subjects in ways that touch me deeply. Are they touching on some memories held somewhere beyond my remembering. These women seem to speak to me of Mother, aunts, grandmothers, teachers - their grace and strength seem represented here. . . in the eight paintings I'm sharing over today and tomorrow.
