Oh Florrie - you are such a good soul andf your words always lighten my heart. The young couple who have bought downstairs (well, when they finally sign the contract) are lovely; I would hate to have a mother like that! I shall hold the invisible mirror in front of me and reflect back her negativity. She is like a piano wire, fit to go 'ping!' I shall keep their well-being in my thoughts and dismiss her entirely (Just sign the bloomin' contract!!!)
Oh Florrie - my sanity is close to breaking point! i have exchanged contracts on the Filey house (and managed to buy an extra piece of lane the size of a car parking space that intruded into my front garden for the grand sum of £750 - that was great news, I was really happy with that!) we have had several people interested in the upstairs, one would like to buy it to let as a renter could literally walk in without any more being done to it :o) Downstairs - 5 months and still not exchanged!! Their solicitor has only just started the searches!!!!!! Our solicitor is speechless. And they came by this morning with the damn mother/mother in law. No comment on how nice the decorating was (in the colours they had chosen and we went and bought) just dumb comments about were we going to clean a mark on the window! If they don't exchange in the next week, they wont have to worry about marks on the window - their mortgage offer expires Dec 13th and if they don't get their act together, they'll be living with the mother! aaarrrggh... I am exhausted and next week I am papering the ceiling of the space where the new ceiling is - at 66, I'm too old for this; the fussy mother takes all my heart out of it - we have been far too accommodating, I can't wait to move
