Dawn and Bev, thanks for your support. I go in early tomorrow and have the op the same day. I'm hoping that it will help my poor speech and also help with my eating.
Pat will keep you informed as much as possible. I'll be chatting to you soon. :-))
lol Dawn! It took me an hour to put the frame together. So far I've only got 19% done and I really don't have the time to devote to an 18 hour puzzle either.
I'm too impatient to do a puzzle that takes 18 hours to do! Plus my small screen would make the pieces to small. I'm wise to your devious nature John. I can hear you laughing.
Hello out there in Anglesey. John, listen up...I finished this monster square. I began it Dec.12th and finished tonight, just before bedtime, it only took me 18:25mins and 36sec. I got the leaderboard beat for the deadweights. Tah Dah!!!!! January 7, 2018....10:50PM
Looking at it and driving myself mad with it, is more like it. I'm thinking I could get it in 100 hours, maybe. And they are not dots. They are squares.
lol Bev at counting dots. I do Sudoku before bed and when I start staring at the numbers and stop thinking, it's time to turn the light off. It really does put me to sleep. :-)
Hi John, Just a little update I think I began the evening of 12 or 14 I got to 20 percent ...til now 12-17-17..7:12 PM ...yippee.....Maybe by next Christmas I will get it done. Bev.
I did pretty good on the gumballs one, without any assists :) It's the puzzles like this one, where there are no similar colors to match up, etc, that take forever... I was just wondering if I was missing a strategy :)
I know that I'm a slow solver, but when I would see the top score was ridiculously fast I assumed there was cheating involved. Being #1 on the list by cheating is a weird hollow accomplishment.
Wow. As I was telling my husband about this last night, what is the point? For me the putting each piece in is the enjoyable part, if I was going to cheat just to get a faster time, it means nothing. That's a pretty sad life, right there. But now that I know, it does make me feel better about some of my times. lol
I've wondered many times how they do it ....there is a spot on the net that shows you how it's done..pictures and all, but it is still Grrreeek to me. Or I wondered if some folks have two screens to work with. Although, if I'm not mistaken, John used to or still does work a huge puzzle on his tablet. Is that correct John?? Or, did I dream that????
Well you should only do what's not too taxing on you at the moment. I know since her stroke, Hubby's mom has had not much interest in reading. Although his aunt has taken her some books and she's read them. She wants to use her tablet which is now a hand-me-down ipad from hubby's brother, but she just can't seem to remember how to use them. Then she says they don't work. lol It's not that it's too much for her, they just don't work.
I was fuzzy with my last surgery and didn't bother to balance my check book until the next month's bills came. I was vey careful in paying my bills. I couldn't keep up with reading a book so I watched TV, slept, and did jigsaw puzzles.
Judy Heck no.....sometimes I must look up a word ...if I'm not quite sure of the meaning. While searching and found my answer ...I ran across what I posted ..it sounded good to me. :)) Girl, when do you sleep?
Oh, John, A monochrome.....I did a couple of these back about a year or so ago. Jasonyeo put them out in every different color. It took me forever and a day to complete. I may give it a whirl, so I will bookmark it for another day. Bev.
