The artwork in Today's Daily Jigsaw Puzzle is titled "La Maschera" (1874), and the artist is Italian painter Gaetano Chierici (1838–1920) ♥

Gaetano Chierici Gaetano Chierici was a master of genre painting, particularly known for his vivid and humorous depictions of everyday life.

His works often featured rural scenes, filled with meticulous detail and a sense of warmth, capturing the simple joys and trials of peasant life. Chierici's paintings are rich in narrative, each one telling a story with a touch of irony or sentimentality. Despite their often lighthearted subjects, his works are underpinned by a deep understanding of human nature, making them both charming and insightful reflections of 19th-century Italian society.

@paintswithwords @Hdarlene It for sure has a lot of details, and tells a story! Amazing painting 😊

Isn't that just like a little boy! He's delighting in his sister's and mother's reaction, lol. My little brother always stole the bacon off my plate.

I hope she expresses her displeasure with a hand sharply applied to his little bottom! That kind of scare can last a child's lifetime.

I think the little boy scared his sister with his mask, causing her to spill her meal. Mama isn’t happy about it.

Realistic painting, and funny too. Mom doesn't look very happy with the masked boy

HIS EYE FOR DETAILS IS AMAZING. THE WOODGRAIN IN THE DOOR IS JUST ONE OF THE THINGS I THINK AND APPRECIATE IN HIS WORK.
