These come in levels of heat. Having lived here for nearly 20 years I've reached the "hot" level which I can tolerate well and have learned to love. As a friend from Acoma said, "They are New Mexico's oranges".

@beyondwords, I just made and ate the perfect "heat" for guacamole. 4 small avocados mashed and mixed with 3/4 cups of "Hot" El Pinto green chili. Perfect! I had to tell my son he'd need to add heat to his....

At our house we like our peppers pretty hot. But then we may miss out on the other flavours. I think it's time for us to try some different kinds. -Patsy
