Thanks cojac500. It's rare that I am even able to get a picture of the cardinals before they fly away, but every once in a while I catch a break.

Maybe. I thought it was just because, in general, the cardinals are a lot more skittish than the cactus wrens and most of the other birds in my yard. The cactus wrens, on the other hand, are nosy and get into everything!


I just read that the cactus wren is the state bird of Arizona. So maybe it can claim the feeder as its own.
