Coffee cup coasters, hair ties, dolls scarves, Christmas tree streamers...

I had one as a child.

I think I made a rug,

I'm curious if anyone made anything from the yarn "ropes" these produced. I had planned to put them together to make a warm winter hat, but never did.

I remember my father hammering some nails in a wooden spent reel of my mothers when I was a child. I think I only managed about 6" - it was so tedious to do. Later, my brother's wife gave me one which was easier to do as it had metal hoops on it - was shaped like a wooden doll. I think I still have it.

I had these.

Yes. I had one, but had completely forgotten about it until I saw your puzzle.

Yes I had a homemade one like this. What miles of cord we made!
Thanks and hugs Willy. ♥

Yes I remember, my grandmother gave it to me to keep me busy.

I still have one stored somewhere. It is pink and is a little girl. Had to learn how to do this to help with a library program. When a co- worker made a trip to Germany she picked one up for me there. Great fun! Grins!☺

fjed2

Yup, I remember.

Oh my goodness yes, we used to make shoelaces using this...

Lia

In Holland it was called 'punnikken'!!
