In memory of Mr. William McAllister who died March 12, 1811, aged 72.
Behold and see as you pass by
As you are now so once was I.
As I am now so you must be
Therefore prepare to follow me.
He was born at Londonderry, N.H., the son of William and Jane (Campbell) McAllister, Scotch-Irish immigrant. His wife was Mary Clark. He was a soldier in the American Revolution from Jaffrey, N.H.

Thank you for the post and for saying what it said on the grave marker.
I to like to look at some history now. But when I was in school all I ever did was do my very best skip school and I did thanks to my Dad from the time I was 7 on till I quit at 16. But my Dad tolled me the same thing his Dad told him no school that's fine but your work. And he meant hoard work.


I enjoy the history also. This cemetery has several headstones with names of children who died at the age of a few days, or months. Times were difficult.


Wondering what drew him to Berlin Vt. I enjoy cemeteries, trying to imagine the lives and journeys.
