Well, that is really neat to learn, Den. When the 540 picece/format began, I wasn't sure what to call this size. Whatnauts suggested Wowser and I loved the idea. Yes, here it does have an almost opposite idea...something really out of the ordinary. Thanks.Hi Pat...glad you liked this one. I see you are 7th. I expected you to find it pretty quickly.
Hi Sue - have this bookmarked. Just thought I'd let you know that the term "wowser" is part of Australian slang which is basically a mean spirited person who dislikes seeing others enjoying themselves. It originated around 1900 where it was applied to anti-drinking, anti-gambling temperance groups who had the slogan "We Only Want Social Evils Remidied". A much loved old Australian writer, C J Dennis, wrote: 'Wowser: an ineffably pious person who mistakes this world for a penitentiary and himself for a warder'Obviously in America it means something else - probably an extension of "Wow" I suspect. The American usage is much more pertinent to all of us fun-loving jigidiers. Thanks for posting this puzzle - you are definitely not a wowser!!!!!!!
Wowserdoodledeeday!!!!!! Terrific fun, and beautiful as well! Thanks so much, Sue!!!
