Why are you reporting this puzzle?

Although under cover, snowy winds pushed a dusting of snow onto the display. πŸ˜Ίβ„οΈπŸ˜Šβ„οΈ
My first reaction was...those guys are gonna need a whole lot more spiked cocoa. LOL
Elsewhere I've got about six inches of rare Christmas snow and it is very cold...for these parts.
Brushed off the snow and tidied them up after taking the photo. 😊😊

Impie, I hope those "cats" behave themselves! 13Β°C sounds delightful, except for the wind and gloom. One of the nice things about S.N.O.W. is how bright it makes everything, even when it is cloudy. That's a lovely contrast to our usual gloomy, grey, rainy winter days. We're at a balmy -1Β°C.....until I you factor in the wind chill. Then it's a chilly -6. Feels warmer, and we're melting. πŸ™ƒ

calluna

LOL Anne, wonderful story. And lots of fun....in a safe area. Sorry about Renate. Moms do what moms do. Scary drive for sure.

Atsutsa

@calluna Oh, yes. My son (oldest child and daredevil) had a one piece snowsuit so he felt he was physically impervious and his personality declared he was up to the feat, took on creating a sliding ramp from the top of the garage down into the 8 foot high snow pile (remnant of a farmer plowing our driveway out. He had a ball. My daughter, Renate, never really liked the "outdoors" so she only went when she had to. But, being prone to ear infections, she chose a snowy February to get one the morning after a storm. Whew, driving through the 10' tunnel left by snow plows was eerie to say the least. But listening to her express her ear pain was worse...so....

calluna

Anne, I bet your kids had a field day out there!! What fun.....and great memories.

Impie

I'm glad you enjoy the S.N.O.W., Nancy. Our temperatures are going up and up. It's been dry today, a bit gloomy and the wind is rather fierceful, but the temp is THIRTEEN!!!Β°C. right now (at 7:15PM). In our province Zuid-Limburg they even reached 15Β°C today!
I'm upstairs in my computer room and I CAN hear the wind 'crying' around my bedroom window which is on the ajar position....sounds similar to cats in a fight! LOL

Atsutsa

When my kids were young we all used to really look forward to "snow days"....not frequent in Wisconsin where they know how to deal with snow. Since we were on a 5 acre (non-working) farm with out buildings there was just so much to do and explore.

calluna

😊😊 Keeps it interesting, eh Carol? LOL Enjoyed watching it snow this morning with my deck holiday lights on and a crackling log fire video on the TV. If you have Xfinity/Comcast, it is called the "no music yule log". Lasts an hour and is easy to repeat all day long.

Carol66

Yup, the snow goes on...............and on.........weather forecast looks promising for a warm up.....but, this is the PNW and things can change on an hourly basis! LOL

calluna

Knew you'd understand, Impie! πŸ˜Ίβ„οΈπŸ˜Šβ„οΈ
Fresh S.N.O.W. overnight. Expected to continue throughout the day. Could be another 4". We were supposed to "warm" up and maybe even transition to rain by Sunday, but the forecast seems to be waffling, so we'll see how that goes.
Enjoyed a short walk the other day in bright sunshine and blue skies. It was so pretty and the sun made it enjoyable though it was still very cold. So nice to be back inside, snug and warm. I don't mind S.N.O.W. when it is a relatively brief once-a-year thing and there's a chance to ignore the challenges of getting around and enjoy the fun side. Thankfully I've been "hamsteren" in past weeks so the pantry is full. LOL 🐹😊🐹

Nillie - This cold weather is unusual and snow at Christmas is rare. Usually we have rainy mild winters and pleasant summers. Nothing dramatic in either direction. When we do get extra hot or cold weather it isn't for very long, so it is easier to either enjoy it or put up with it. LOL It has been awhile since I've had to dress for such cold temperatures plus wind chill, but I do have the gear to be comfortable. And two "kitty heaters" that make excellent lap warmers. 😺😊😺
P.S. Tavish and Oliver say thank you and send your kitties purry meows. 😺😺

Anne - Perhaps Minneapolis weather at other seasons has advantages that outweigh the winters? Maybe the cold winters also have blue skies and sunshine? I seem to recall that from my earlier days in Ontario and Wisconsin. Sunshine makes such a difference. Our current snowy cold snap has been enjoyable when the sun shines and makes a nice change from our usual grey, rainy winter days. But I'm very glad it won't go on for months. Not sure I'd be happy with that. But the right clothing and boots goes a long way to being more comfortable, whatever the weather or location. πŸ˜Šβ„οΈπŸ˜Šβ„οΈ

Atsutsa

Oh, @nillie, that exactly my fear in planning to move from sunny New Mexico where it's possible for me to go outside every day. Minneapolis has weather I've experienced in the past too but really it's just better to sleep through January for the most part. I'm going to have to look for some good thermal boots and buy some long underwear again. Br-r-r-r-r

nillie

You live in a VERY cold place Nancy, and it is hard for me to imagine people's daily lives in this cold... But it's obvious that for those who live in an all-cold place it's hard to imagine how people live in an all-hot place:-))
p.s. best regards to your kitties from mineβ™₯☺β™₯

Impie

Thanks for posting, Nancy. I don't like S.N.O.W. as you obviously know, but it always makes such pretty pictures. I love it!
Your story of pulling the red fleece around the guy and tuck him more in makes me smile. I can totally understand and could see myself do the same! LOLπŸ˜Ίβ„οΈπŸ˜Š

calluna

Me too, Betty. πŸ˜Ίβ„οΈπŸ˜Š I even pulled the red fleece around the guy in the barrow to tuck him in more. Silly, but fun.

Even snow covered it is cute. Glad they have their scarves on. ☺β™₯☺β™₯

Atsutsa

@calluna I grew up in southern Ohio but north enough to get at least one good sized snow a winter. I raised my kids in Wisconsin....so, yeah, you can get tired of snow. Now in NM my kid-excitement comes back with snow which we get enough to count about once a year.

calluna

I thought so, too, Anne! Glad you liked it.
Around here the rain or snow question happens a lot. So many things need to align "just right" for us to have an urban "snow event". Snow at Christmas is rare so watching it snow over the Christmas weekend was a real treat. I'm pretty sure it has been quite awhile since we've had snow with really cold temps before and after so it stays around looking pretty for a bit. We had sun and blue skies today, warming up from about 18 to about 21. LOL Reminds me of the opening sequence in Grumpy Old Men, "We're havin' a heatwave, a tropical heatwave" 😊

Atsutsa

How absolutely "atmospheric"! Slow day here as we wait for the "storm" to come...will it be snow or will it be rain....probably rain because we are at 48 Fahrenheit.. but it will get colder tonight. Hope everyone stays warm and sheltered.

calluna

Exactly!!!

Carol66

LOL, and I remember "Grumpy OLD Men".......Walter Mattuha (sp?)......good fun, no blood, no gore, no social problems.....just fun with cranky old men!

calluna

They did, Ella. When they're not napping all snuggled up (often together in one big furry bundle) both have sat at various windows seemingly mesmerized....not anxious or ack-acking, not even at the little birds flitting around. Perhaps puzzled? 😊❀️😺

LOL Carol. We're up to a toasty 21 and the winds seems to have eased. Reminds me of the very snowy and cold opening sequence for Grumpy Old Men.....we're havin' a heatwave, a tropical heatwave... might have to hunt that out and watch it. 😊😊

Carol66

So cute. Was 11 degrees this AM. Warmed up nicely to 17 degrees currently. Brrrrr.

EllaMB

Oh my! They got quite a dusting! Did the boys get to watch the snow falling?
