Mother's Day Card
Why are you reporting this puzzle?
For all the moms and for those who miss their mom. In the US, Mother's Day will be celebrated on Sunday, May 9, this year. Over 50 countries celebrate a Mother's Day, and some celebrate it in May. The tradition in the US when I was a child was that you wore a carnation to church--red or pink if your mother was alive and white if your mother had died. The history of the beginnings of the celebration include the personalities of Julia Ward Howe and a tradition in the UK of returning to your "mother" church on the 4th Sunday of Lent.
Please feel free to share something about your own traditions or your mother. Mine died a few years ago at age 98. She had served as a Lt JG in the Navy in Washington, D. C. during WW II. She was a loving mom who loved cooking and making doll clothes and even a doll house for us. She passed on to all of us her gift of hospitality and showed us the joy of inviting others into our home. She supported my dad in his work in over 25 countries, with Dad sharing his knowledge of the Greek New Testament in seminaries and as a consultant around the world.
