Niccolino, I tend to make many of something too. Our church bazaars, friends, etc are recipients of many things I make. I seldom sell anything unless someone asks me specifically. Enjoy the sewing process!

Yes, I give a lot away as presents, too, delanee. I enjoy making & when I get an idea I run with it & end up with loads of something! Charity shops (thrift shops) are another outlet, I find, & sometimes churches will take them to sell on if they have a small shop attached.

Hi Niccolino,
I teach classes at a quilt shop a few times a year. I give the students each a chicken pincushion as a treat...
I tend to give things I have made away...I did a few craft shows in my twenties. It has been a long time.

Matahari, thank you. I somehow missed your comment.

Just found these - they are wonderful. Such a great way to use up leftover scraps of fabric. I really enjoy crafts of all kinds but I can't use a sewing machine - bought a mini one a few years ago & too frightened even to get it out of its box!! I want to make some mice (cat toys) this coming year - I bought the fabric squares, matching cord tails & matching felt for ears & eyes a few years ago, then the machine as I thought it would be quicker than hand-sewing (which is generally what I do if I have to sew anything) but never got around to doing them. Your beautiful chickens have inspired me! What do you do with your chicken pin cushions when you have made them? I started doing craft fairs until the dratted covid came along.

Thanks Brightspark!

Thanks Fowly for stopping by...Sounds like you enjoyed your sewing time.

Fowly

I solved this one for you delanee, as it is your "picture signature. I have made a few quilts and I used to make my two daughters and my own dresses. But I have put my old Bernini out to pasture, we both have earned a rest. And like johnjones32, I like these jigsaws toooo much. Thanks for your puzzles, Fay from Australia.

irisriver

I have never sewn much but admire it because of my grandmother. ♥♥

delanee

Thanks Irisriver. Are you a sewer as well?

irisriver

What a wonderful job you did with these!!! Happy Smiles! !☺·٠•●♥ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ♥●•٠·˙˜”*°•.♥

jals

Thanks Delanee, you too!

delanee

I do believe the walnuts help sharpen the pins as well. Enjoy the day!

jals

That's interesting to know. Do the crushed walnuts do the same thing as the metal scrubby? I made some stuffed snowmen once and put rocks in the bottom to weight them so they would stand.

delanee

Hi jals, yes I do use polyester stuffing (mountain mist or other brands) and sometimes crushed walnuts. Some people will put a metal scrubby in the center surrounded by a softer stuffing. Sharpens the pins.

jals

What do you stuff them with? Polyfill?

delanee

Thanks Ladies, they are becoming my fun addiction...

jals

Very cute Delanee!

getlostinabook

really cute chickens. I'll have to make one or more for my mother-in-law who is in to chickens for the kitchen.

delanee

Thanks Quartina and Mariana for stopping by...I do enjoy jigidi as well!

quartina

That's a fine looking flock of Chicken Ladies!

delanee

Thanks for stopping by ladies. There is a chicken pattern on line and also on the Missouri website with Jenny Doan.
I was in the middle of putting borders on a quilt and needed a little break...I enjoy these puzzles a little too much. Happy Quilting!!

Hi Delanee! Enjoyed your chicken pincushion puzzle. I too am a quilter, but after recently being introduced to jigidi, I find I'm spending more time puzzling on puzzles than I am puzzling on quilts! Love the colors in the chickens! I am also a lover of paisley! Looks as though I have some matching fabrics to yours. I need to finish up a baby blanket today because she's on her way!! 2 online fabric stores I use MSQC & GREEN FAIRY QUILTS. Take care.

Hi Delanee, I have LOTS of old fabric scraps, some of which were my mother's, & some from our 3 daughters' clothes & such, so they have sentimental value. I'm not that great at sewing, & have been looking for something nice & simple to make with them. I think you have provided the idea I've been wishing for, right here. I am a "chicken-aholic", so if I make some of these for our girls they will have some nice keepsakes to remember me by. Thank you for sharing this sweet puzzle, I know I'll enjoy working it. ~ Hugs, Gina, in Oregon
