Meet Holly the 3 year old Basset Hound who flirts with everyone she meets. About 6 to 8 million cats and dogs enter shelters in the U.S. every year. And only half of them will ever get a chance at a new, loving home. To try and address this issue, the Humane Society of Utah are now producing a series of photobooth style portraits for their adoptable dogs. The hope is that these whimsical collections will convey the unique personality of each of their dogs. "This photo shoot is a much better way of presenting them as opposed to the sad dog behind the metal bars," photographer Guinnevere Shuster told the Daily Mail. And it's working - the photo series has seen adoption rates among the furry participants rise to more than 93%.

i have a dog that was on it's way to the pound. she is half husky and half akita, with big blue eyes and absolutely beautiful. the woman who had her from a pup to 3 years old didn't want her anymore??!?? new boyfriend? new apartment? whatever it was, wasn't worth it. she has more personality than a lot of people i've known. i posted a picture of her a month or so ago if you want to see her.

She is a cutie! I have a few more that I will be posting over the next few days. As in a previous reply comment to you, I feel this is important not to just our dog lovers on Jigidi but to our horse and cat lovers as well. With hopes that adoptions or monetary donations can be given to local animal shelters and non-profit organizations that help.
