A large body of water, no matter which one, is always wonderful! I do miss that, a lot, but I'm embracing what we have. :)

I totally understand about "needing" the mountains, Mooro. For me, it was neck and neck with needing big water. Now I live a mile from Lake Superior. It's not the same as the Sound, but it's the best the midwest can offer!

Wisconsin is beautiful from what I've heard. I needed the mountains so MT has been a great supplement to WA. But I do miss the Sound, islands - just the smells, sounds and feelings that go with that temperate climate. I'll definitely have Orcas Island on my agenda, along with other islands. Loved the ferry rides. Thanks again, joyfulli!

I graduated from Mount Rainier HS in Des Moines, WA, Mooro, but now live in Wisconsin. (At least you have mountains in Montana!) I hope you can get to Orcas Island some time. The pottery studio is only one of so many wonderful things to see there.

I just looked over your other posts of this studio, joyfulli. I also grew up in Seattle, graduating from Bothell (in Montana now). I haven't been back for a long time but this studio will be on my list when get I back there! Thank you for your posts.l

I would imagine it does, Returner. My sister has a somewhat similar one hanging in her dining room.
It IS a pottery studio -- Orcas Island Pottery. It's a consortium of about twenty potters. Most of the displays are outdoors. It was a beautiful spot, Mooro.

Looks like a potter's studio. Great carving and I like how the pots are displayed along the wall. Thanks!

Very large carving, must weigh a "ton."
