Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I posted another puzzle today showing a stone house I spotted in the town of Gardiner, Montana. Gardiner sits right up against the Wyoming border. It also sits right next to the northwestern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. This stone arch sits less than a half mile from where you pay to enter the park. I have posted a number of puzzles in the past showing the park and will post more in the future. Just not today.

wasicu, I have been close to that cave but never been there. Not really a "cave person" myself, Terry

Thank you.
A bit unique - In 1903 Wind Cave NP (a few miles away) became first National Park that is a cave. In the mid 1930's, the CCC dug the shaft for easier access to the cave. The elevators that were put in no longer have parts to work on them with. So over a year ago the cave tours had to be stopped untire part could be manufactured to fix them as no new elevators made today could fit in the old shaft. It is finally fixed.

wasicu, Good question. I have been to numerous sites where the CCC built various structures. They were done in the 1930's. The Roosevelt Arch, shown here, was constructed back in 1903. Since Yellowstone was our nation's first national park, it was erected just for the grandeur of it. The construction was overseen by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It is bigger than it looks at 50 feet high. Terry

Do you happen to know the history of this arch? Looks like it might be from the CCC days. There is a lot of really nice rock work they did though out the West.
