Donna, this sounds very familiar. "Our gang" would swim under a ferry boat designed for cars crossing the river. In retrospect, this was not a safe thing to do, but what did kids our age know about danger! Haney :-)
This is sooooo cute and also reminds me of childhood memories. :-) But, the place we went to swim was in a pond at some folks' home down the road. My brother and I (ages 9 and 11) and a couple of our friends would go there and swim and go under the pier, hold to a post and see who could hold their breath the longest. (ha) Thanks for posting this, Haney.
