Sloup, Česká republika ..............
Why are you reporting this puzzle?
........... Column in Bohemia - The village in the romantic landscape between Novy Bor and Czech Lipa has become a popular resort since the end of the 19th century due to healthy air, extensive forests and bizarre rock formations. At first glance, the rock castle captivates you on a lonely rock.
The Column is not only the originally medieval rock castle and the later pilgrimage site and the shelter of hermits with a labyrinth of corridors and rooms carved in a rock block, but also a Baroque chateau and a Baroque church of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Chapel of St. Jana Nepomucký with imposing tree-line, a number of sculptures headed by Calvary in the center of the city next to parks and also folk architecture and a number of timbered houses, some rural, other urban type with mansard roofs.
The sandstone rock in the middle of the valley is approximately 30 meters high, 100 meters long and 60 meters wide. People have abandoned their homes not only in the rocks but also on the surface. This created a place with a complicated history, partly a castle and partly a sacred monument, pierced by corridors, cloisters and a number of rooms, including a rock church. On the southern side, you walk through spectacular terraced terraces, the hermit at the top of the cliff reminds of the times when the Column was to be transformed into a pilgrimage site with a monastery.
The landscape around Sloup is run by many sightseeing circuits; such as the forest theater, the Na Stráži lookout tower with a restored guesthouse or Samuel's cave. In her, almost twenty years had lived a hermit before moving to a hermitage on the Column Castle. On the southern side of the Radvanecký pond you will find modified beaches for recreation and bathing, rope park and summer campsites with cottages, on the north bank there is a swamptrail with one-way trails for cyclists ........
