Sorry to disagree, but I don't see it as gloomy at all... just a bit melancholy. But then I love muted tones.
Could you possibly post it again with around 150 pieces to make it a bit more difficult and make the pleasure last longer?

Yes I think sis Ank is right....its a bit gloomy.
Must have been a bit of a nuisance to have to draw water from the pump.
They knew no better.
