Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I drove from our home in Southwestern Oregon this June, back to Montana. It was a distance of nearly 1200 miles. Normally, there are functioning restrooms at various rest stops along the way. However, during the Covid outbreak, I have found most rest area have had the inside restrooms locked up and their drinking fountains shut off. Many just offer porta potties, but some are closed all together. In those 1200 miles, I only found two rest areas that still had their inside facilities open. One of them was the one shown in this photo. I took the opportunity to stretch my legs a bit and took my camera with me because I saw water in the distance. The rest area was about 40 miles southwest of Spokane on Highway 395. When I looked on a map later, I believe water is from a damned up creek named Sprague Lake.

Beautiful photo and puzzle. I do hope there were porta-potties there somewhere. I love this "lone tree" by that water. Great place to stretch one's legs, as you said. THANK YOU for such a variety of photos and puzzles, as always.

Thanks Sara, for such an encouraging comment, Terry

jignjw: If you went north several miles on the freeway, you would come to the exit for the town of Sprague. If you continued southeast on that same road for 43 miles, you would run right into Steptoe. From this spot, the way the crow flies, it is about 35 miles to Steptoe. Terry

I look at this photo and think how beautiful it is in its simplicity. With all the horrors we are facing in this world today, I can look at your puzzle and feel peace as nature never lets us down with its beauty. Thanks for that moment, Terry. Cheers from Sara

Terry, I read your story & solved your other WA rest area puzzle first then I came to this one. What if the story here is that this one formerly had a whole grove of huge trees but they were taken out by one of nature's downbursts!! This lone tree survived....
That part of Washington looks very barren. I could Google it, but I wonder how far this is from the Steptoe Butte area. Thanks for the puzzles today and every day. Nancy
