I tried out my new camera this morning - and this is what I took!! It's the same model as Laura's - a Canon SX50HS!!!

Thanks Suzy :))

Thanks Barb - on both counts :))))) Now I have to do it justice :)))

SunnyBarb25

First: HAPPY BIRTHDAY Robyn!!!
Second: Congrats on the new wonderful camera!

pumpkinhead

Excellent!!

robryan

Ha! I have a few 'deletes' Jan :))) Try holding your breath - that works most times!! I'm thinking of trying a monopod to get steady shots, but I'll see how the new camera & I get along first!! Thanks - I like this one too!!!

RetiredJan

Wow, what detail! You have a terrific steady hand, Rob! Must admit I have trouble with the close-ups because I shake around too much! Well done!

robryan

How about that Floyd!! I really like it so far - and thanks for the Birthday wishes :)))

Gladstone

Great picture Rob. By the way, that's the same camera as I have as well. Good choice. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBYN.

robryan

Thanks Dave - it's really good and easy to use so far, and I haven't even studied the instruction sheet yet!! It comes with a large-ish battery & recharger, so I had to charge it first thing, but it didn't take long.
I saw that bit of pollen - it was on a sticky filament sort of thing!! This stamen doesn't have the red bumps sticking out the end that the last one had. Thanks again Dave.

warbler

Hey Robyn, look at the lower side of the pollen head where it is lighter between individual pollen nodules-I think you caught a single pollen particle falling off the pollen head, in mid air!

warbler

Good Golly!! You can't get any closer than this!! I'll be asking at times how you like it, Robyn, I'm thinking about getting one, too.

robryan

Thanks Shirley - yes, it is :))) It's all I wanted so I'm a very happy B'day girl:)))

shirley68

Great shot, Rob, is the Camera your Birthday gift?

robryan

LOL!!I hope so Beekay!! No - no tripod - but I wouldn't mind trying a monopod one day, as they're easier to carry around!!

Thanks Sally - I'm a slow learner though - so I think Nat Geo are safe :)))))

SMor2Ditto

Impressive shot, Rob... Can't wait till you read the instructions... Look out National Geographic.... ☺☺☺

Beekay

Wow...we will get lots of great closeups!!! Did you use a tripod for this?

robryan

Thanks Chrissie - I haven't even read the instructions yet - but just had to have a go!!!!

Thanks snooker :))))

It's a winner!

foxymoron

Wow! Macro magic - super clear details. Good camera and a steady hand! Well done, Rob.
