Hello, Magnus, dear. Actually that makes sense. I wrote myself several notes and stuck them all over the desk, computer and theme list paper. I probably had myself confused by then for sure. Thanks for being a good sport about it. I have it marked in red now, on my theme list. Maybe I'll have it right next time around. TeeHee
You're doing a good job Sue. Maybe too good. Perhaps you changed it twice to make sure it was changed.
To add to the confusion, there has been puzzles before(!) the 9th also. I started develop the site in August 2006 and I did made test puzzles all the way until launch in January 2007. They don't exist anymore though.
I'm very happy to get all the greetings. I'll look forward to the 27th :-)
Which is why we should celebrate it twice, @sue1, LOL. ;) ... One celebration is the first puzzle ever posted and the 2nd is the launch date of Jan. 27th. Two different types of celebrations. I'm easy. No pressure on remembering to remind me or anything else, Sue. If you do, you do, if you don't then you don't. I'll hopefully remember myself, anyway. Please don't worry about it. It's all ok. At least we all got together and celebrated it once during the month which was really nice, thank you. :D
Well, I swear....last year I changed it to the 27th and I was told that was wrong, that it was the 9th. So I changed it back to the 9th. And I had Ank change it back to the 9th. I am now totally confused myself. I guess I am just too dense to understand. Anyway, yet again, I will change it to the 27th for 2018. I have already marked my THEME WEEK LIST to change it in 2018. I am just beyond confused as I was told last January that I had it wrong, it wasn't the 27th. Oh well. I won't give up, I'll just remain confused.
@Magnus, @sue1 Well... if Jigidi's official birthday is Jan. 27th, we'll just have to post the birthday wishes again on the 27th. If I can celebrate my birthday all week long, I don't see why we can't celebrate Jigidi's birthday twice in one month. ;) Now I just have to leave myself "reminder notes" all over the house. :)) If you remember, Sue, give me a shout on the 26th. That sounds like a good "backup plan". :D
Hey @Magnus ... you learn something new every day. Now I can tag someone. :)) Happy 10th Birthday to you, Stefan and Charlotte. Thank you for the wonderful puzzle site and artistic community. Wishing you many more Birthdays to follow. :D
It's January 27 though. I know it's a bit confusing with the date because of this puzzle. I made this one while testing the website, before it was launched. I kept a few of the "test" puzzles so the website wouldn't be empty when the first users arrived.
Hi Kirsten. I see exactly - finally - what you mean. My learning modality as always been "hands on, show me". Thanks for taking the time to explain/show me. Great big HUGS.
But it seems to me that anyone (not just the person "called") could click on the blue @ link and end up on your private puzzle. Or does it ONLY work for the person whose name is there? I clicked on several names back on the goat puzzle and they each went to that person's profile page, when I clicked on my name, it went to my profile page. Oh well.
I think this way is better too, Sue. Specially for newer folks who don't have really old puzzles that don't get picked up by notifications. Being able to create a private (unpublished) puzzle, and then "call someone to it", by putting their user name in with the @ symbol, means absolutely no one else can track it! I hope you can stay cool it your awful weather. Take care. (❛ᴗ❛)
And Magnus, I'd love it if you would like me know about other hyperlinks too. (❛ᴗ❛)
I guess this way might be more private, I try to keep notifications turned off, but this could serve a purpose, for privacy. But it appears that anyone can click on anyone else's link and end up where that person would. Guess I haven't thought it out, but thank you to both of you for more information/explanation.
Yes, Magnus. You posted it once on one of Jigidi's anniversary dates to show us the first photo. You had told us the date (which I screwed up this year, but it will be correct again next year), but then you posted this once for us to see. There were 2 of them, I thinking I remember that.
We've been doing the "calling thing" for a long time using the "most recent comments" feature. The person picks any one of your really old puzzles and comments there. You check the most recent comments, find that one and leave your email. Then you can erase it when they comment back that they have it.
But I can see that this feature would work as well as the old way, I guess. Anyway, people do so love new toys. LOL
Have a great weekend, Kirsten and Magnus. Florida remains very hot, so I'll stay inside today and read, play Scrabble and enjoy Jigidi.
Actually I did just think of a use. And it's one that @sue1 could make use of too. If you still have a puzzle that no one has commented on, you could use this feature to "call someone to it" if you wanted to privately exchange email addresses, or something like that. Not that I think you developed it for that purpose. But it's something I would use it for.
Okaaaaaay. I'm not sure that I can see that I will use this much, but you never know. Thanks for explaining the purpose, Magnus. (❛ᴗ❛)
Will you ever introduce the ability to turn text into a hyperlink too? So when I want to give someone a link to say, an unpublished puzzle, I can just make it a link, rather than them having to copy the hyperlink to a new window/tab? (❛ᴗ❛)
