Smiles, Connie!

These are known as teasels, after they dry. While traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway one year. We found these that had been made into critters, and I bought several to bring home to friends and relatives as a small souvenir. They were so cute, but could barely be touched because they were so sticky. As in, they would stick your fingers, and hurt like a big dog. I doubt that anyone still has theirs. Thanks donnebrook for sharing. connie

Lever: Yes, a great fall arrangement!

Thistle after going to seed. I would cut these when still green and place them in a vase with cattails. No water of course. A dry decoration.
