That does sound scary. Be safe. And I am trying to finish a bed-sized cover for my grandson. I started it a number of years ago and they moved to North Carolina so I put it away and now grown, he is moving back to Georgia so I am trying to finish it. So whenever it is convenient will be fine. Have you taken any pix of the fires?

Dunmowin

Hi Elvisqueen,
We were on Kangaroo Island for two months. Yes, the island is on fire. In this case, the fires have started by lightning strikes. We find the new/media tends to exaggerate.
We were farm sitting at the time and had to evacuate to Kingscote last Friday. It was all a bit scary, driving at night with the van on through a shower of ash. Nothing damaged on our part, thankfully, but the island continues to burn.
We left and returned to the mainland on Tuesday, one month earlier than originally planned.
PS: have not forgotten the crochet plans.

You said the pix was nothing fancy but all of your photos are absolutely gorgeous. Are you in the area that is burning? I saw one report with protestors of climate change and another one that it was arson. Neither report was very informative about how it started. It is so sad to hear about so many animals dying. Just be safe but enjoy your journey.

Well done RandomWorship, had not picked up on the different spelling

Ha! I was just down there, a few weeks ago! I spent two weeks in Queenscliff. It's a lovely part of the world! And the town is spelt Queenscliff, while the borough that it is in is Queenscliffe. See? I was listening on the guided historical tour of the town! (❛ᴗ❛)

Thanks Robbos. Nothing fancy, just a smart phone pic...
