Could you imagine how great this country could be if our politicians had this commitment and honor?????? What a world they could make and not for themselves and close friends but everyone.
Tater-You are so right about commitment and honor. This picture was taken during Sandy-it's a picture i received in an email and sent it to PG, who posted it for all of us.
I had read that the Honor Guard would continue through Sandy, no matter what, and I'm very glad to see this picture (even if it wasn't during Sandy). Most of the time these days, it seems that the words "commitment" and "honor" aren't worth much. It's both grounding and inspiring to have a visual reminder that such concepts are still alive and well. Thanks, PG.
The epitome of standing your ground with dignity, pride and courage... And more.... a lot more... True guardians of freedom.... There are not enough words....
I did not travel to DC this time but I have been to the tomb several times and it is always inspirational. These men dedicate their lives to this. Once they are admitted they can never drink or use foul language or they have to return the pin they are given. They are completely isolated for six month learning every dignitary in Arlington and their location. Can you believe can never have drink or cuss? I may last fifteen minutes a little longer if I am asleep.
Wow, an unbelievable photo, you didn't actually travel to D.C. ? No matter, who said heros are hard to find these days. . . . . thanks, PG for sharing this. Gives a person goose bumps.
