Prior to all the awareness of skin damage from the sun, we used a shelter, but only to protect us from the wind and cold. But if it was sunny and their was not a wind...

Interesting thought, dhi. Many ice fisher people shelter themselves inside their little tents, though, so they're not exposed to much sun.

Interesting thought, Ed. People DO fish here in the summer, but I don't ever recall seeing the density of fishing boats as I see ice fisher people. It would make sense, though, to go to those places where summer fishing was good. Thanks for the thought.

I wonder if any of these people fish the lake in summer. We used to try to set up over good summer fishing spots.
