Love these laurajane! They look like they're pecking at niger seed? Our gold finches in England are like this but have bright red around the eye - we have had a lot during last summer and during the snow in January - such lovely birds to see, but so quick, not sure I could get such a good close-up of mine!
Lovely photo; lucky you to have such a healthy bird population in your garden!
Gorgeous picture ....
Thanks for your comments, pumpkin and morris. These guys sure do fuss at eachother. They take eachother's spot. I guess the only ones that get the food are the aggressive ones.
Beautiful photo, laura!
No matter hoe many feeders you have, they are always fighting over the best spot! Great shot.
I have so many goldfinches, that I could use one of those units where there are multiple tube feeders, all attached. Thanks for commenting, chickie, Ank, gnt and Angel! Have a great day! chickie, don't hurt yourself shoveling snow. Seriously.
Hi Angelbender. I just went out to shovel the sidewalk. It is very heavy snow. I believe 8" or 9". It is hard to tell because the wind blew so much around. How about you?
I don't believe I finished this one faster than chickiemama! Must be a glitch in the counter software!Chickiemama, how much snow have you gotten, so far, that is?
Like the gold finches always have them around
So cute, lovely.
Nice shot Laura.
