Their fight was not over slavery, and the bigots of today are succeeding to sully their Loyalty to the South by banning the Flag of The Confederacy. Most don't even know how to open a History book !!!

No what the South had was crops food, cotton, tobacco and access to major waterways, and thriving international trade. Slavery was minor to other trade issues. Atlanta and New Orleans were major ports. Raw goods were sold more.

the north had factories, railroads, people, the south not so much.

From what I understand, the North was broke and the South had the money - more about simple greed and very little about abolishing slavery, although that needed to happen.
