A drive around Prince Edward Island...south-central shore...tide's out in Victoria

In June we travelled by rail from Vancouver (British Columbia) to Montreal (Quebec) where we spent five nights. We then took an overnight train to Moncton (New Brunswick). Next we drove to Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), and flew home from Halifax.

I was surprised how far out the tide went, Jill. In Vancouver we would have clam diggers busily at work here...but with the oyster and mussel farms in PEI perhaps they have refined tastes. ;D

The sand on some of the beaches of the central north side of the Island were golden, Andie. :)

It is really "darker and redder" than ours ,striking for me as we've just come back from Brittany where the sand is more of a golden shade.♥☺♥☺♥

Beautiful long view, thank you.

Thank you, Suzy...had to get the shallowness of the water, the plateaus, the colour of the soil...near a quaint little town...a bit of an artists' colony...some really lovely wood sculptures in one of the local shops. ❤️

Glad to have you safely home, Andie...was surprised to find your name in the notifications. ;) The soil here, and in parts of Nova Scotia, is this colour when moist. It is a few shades lighter when it dries out. Some of the recently ploughed fields we drove by gave a "zebra stripe" optical illusion as you moved past with the moist colour on one side of the furrow and the dry colour on the other side. ❤️

Glad they're putting a smile in your heart, Ardy. ❤️

We could be neighbours, lela! But, as I told Ank...we'll need to buy a snow blower for the winter. ❤️

I could certainly live here!

Beautiful scene, Faye. Lots of good memories. Thank you. ♥♥

A nice shot Faye ,I am just wondering why the sand is so brown? The rocks are impressive.

Nicely composed, Faye. Thank you. ♥♥
