Why are you reporting this puzzle?

So many schools have had to forgo graduation ceremonies this year. My no-art-talent picture will be included in a video for the women who are graduating this year. Western High School in Baltimore, Maryland remains a public all-female school - since its founding in November 1844!

If you know a graduate, let me know; they're compiling greetings from all years!

While my generation and earlier called ourselves simply "Westernites", this new generation's graduates are "Doves." I believe the change refers to their soaring futures. We pray for all of them -- and us -- during these challenging days.

@sparklightie, As a postscript, this picture was NOT included in the video --- so many other people made really great, professional looking signs that mine was scrapped. Anyway, I *DO* understand these challenging times. Other than the fact that I'm a spring/summer lover, I wish I were in New Zealand now. Apparently, cooler heads prevailed there and they are now cautiously calling themselves virus-free.
And, please, call me M.G.

Mbuchner: Good question. I'll try to find out. Actually, I think it's because there's an historically all-male math and science high school on the same campus (since 1967). I believe some of the young men are now allowed to take classes at Western now - in subjects they don't teach at Poly (Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) - but they are not officially Western students.

How could it remain public and all-female at the same time? The Citadel had to admit females...
