most people hunt antlers after they drop off in the fall..after they are shed..some have dogs trained to find the sheds..but elk meat is good though...brought up in an elk and muledeer area

@dblay, I don't know anyone who would hunt for the antlers. Meat is the only reason to hunt. This bull elk is magnificent!

Such a handsome animal. Why would anyone want to kill this beautiful animal just for it's Antlers? I just don't get it. :-( Thank you for posting this, Haney. Great puzzle.

Love Landseer paintings. He painted a stag with deerhounds that I have a print of. His dog paintings are beautiful too!
