Hi Tea... This is a very old door. I am going with what you stated. Multiple owners who were certainly not carpenters.. Interesting about the many different nail heads and sizes. Remember to each his own. Thank you for posting it . Linda


Good morning @Chris76de, yeah . . Somebody had one chance to measure carefully before they placed the hardware, lol :))

I like these marks of past times, but my inner monk screams when it comes to the off center knob. :)


‘Morning Larry and Jerry . . From the off center placement of locks, keyholes and knobs to the scores and “character marks”, all results from different owners, repairmen and sometimes weather related. Which adds to their unique charm :) Some of my pictures are of doors with multiple door locks and hardware . . before the days of wood filler :))


@Teagardener Love the asymmetry of the knob placement, the wonderful scars of previous mountings, square-headed nails and Dutch-like molding on this panel. SSSW
