Why are you reporting this puzzle?

The Temptations are one of the most legendary acts of all time. Not only are they one of the most important groups from Motown’s golden era, but they’re easily the most influential R&B group that’s ever existed.

Even so, The Temptations weren’t immediately popular. It took them eight different singles to gain traction, something that just wouldn’t happen today. So how did the band finally score a hit? Versatility.

Yes it is a safer operating system.

nanapuzzler

Linux Umbutu (what I have) is free and so much safer than windows but I can't watch Netflix (which I pay for) or see live youtube streams (like today's announcement) because it isn't supported. They don't like not being able to have a back door to spy with so they don't support Linux operating systems. I have to shut this computer down and switch all my plugs over to my old Gateway with Windows Vista in order to watch shows on Netflix GRRRR!!

dhi

Yes, it is a foreign language to me. I was just doing a copy and paste on the question.

I think the best bet is to find someone who speaks foreign languages and knows what is out there.

PutterDutt

All of what you just wrote, dhi, is Greek to me! (I know a fair amount of Latin, but ZERO Greek.)

dhi

I hope that helps, I do not have any experience with Linux. Sorry.

dhi

I am not sure if Ryan will understnas this version of 'Latin' any better that me.

"Currently, Google has only officially offered Picasa 3.0 Beta for Linux. On April 20, 2012, Google announced that they were deprecating Picasa for Linux and will no longer maintain it for Linux. To use latest version of Picasa on Linux, Linux users can use Wine and install Picasa for Windows.

When I googled your question (free editing software for a Linux-based system) this is the answer I got back. Ryan may be able to sort it out.

nanapuzzler

Donna, I have Linux and want to get an editing program. Ryan suggested The Gimp. Would Picassa work on Linux?

nanapuzzler

Voronica said it all!! They give me goosebumps when I hear them!! Thanks Ellen****

dhi

I hear you, mine was gifted to me. If you ever want some help to do that, I will be happy to sign up.

PutterDutt

Thanks for the info, dhi. I wish I could do it, but frankly, not enough to put any money into it.

dhi

Wayne, you are very funny. As long one does not make the mistake of blowing anything else up at the same time.

@PutterDutt
It is not the kind of software that comes pre-installed so probably not.
Do you actually have an interest in doing this kind of thing? There are free editing software apps online, I use Picassa in addition to two purchased software, they each do different things. But Picassa is not one I use for increasing the size of a photo but cleaning it up.
Take care & have a good day.

PutterDutt

I don't think so, dhi.

ParsonWayne

You're not using enough powder, PD, to blow it up.

dhi

Yes, blowing it up is using a photo editing program. I have a couple and they all do similar things. Do you have anything like that?

PutterDutt

It's sort of what I guessed, dhi, but I admitted to not being able to make more pieces on a puzzle, and some kind soul blew it up to many more pieces for the gal that wanted it. There must be a way, but I don't know it. :o(

dhi

I hope that helped.

dhi

No, Jigidi is et up to a maximum number of pixels and a minimum. But if you come across a picture that comes in multiple sizes, pick the large of them. But not literally thousands and thousands of pixels.

PutterDutt

Oh. And here I thought it was just to frustrate me.

dhi

Maximum size (number of pieces) depends on the quality f the original photo.
The system will not let you choose a size that is detrimental to the quality of the puzzle.

PutterDutt

Karen, I am a fossil. I know how to do a lot of stuff, but have NOT got the knack of making puzzles with large numbers of pieces. The most I can get out of this is 36. Sorry.

So glad that so many of you have fond memories of these golden-voiced men!

Just amazing! Thank you for posting, kind regards, Marj

Thank you PutterDutt for this wonderful puzzle. I love the Temptations wonderful voices and dance moves. Would you consider making the puzzle with more pieces.... maybe between 200 or 300 pieces. I would love to solve it again.

The Motown sound remains one of best eras for music ever, and their influence remains strong today. Some of the best dancing music ever and the lyrics were easy to sing along too. Love these guys, thanks for the memories Ellen. *U* Voronica~

Tincup

Classic. Beautiful. Inspired. Superhot.

PutterDutt

Smooth as silk!

Bringing back memories from long ago when I saw them in concert in Washington, DC. Really loved seeing them.

O how much I love them.

dhi

What a great photo of the Temptations looking groovy. I really loved their music and still listen to it today.

manicpuzzler

Motown is my favourite music genre :)

PutterDutt

Me, too, PW.

Thanks, cappy, and you, too.

Thank you Ellen, Enjoy your day.

ParsonWayne

I still enjoy their music.

Writer/producer Narada Michael Walden explains:
You want something pretty, they could sing the prettiest thing in the world. You want something rough, rugged, they’ve got the most hardcore, rough, rugged sound you ever want to hear. They had all the gears, from Melvin Franklin doing the bass part, David Ruffin being the tiger, and then you also had the high-voice falsetto which inspired Prince, Eddie Kendricks.
