@dethme0w these 5mm white LEDs have no discernible yellow in the clear view casting !

Yes, a yellow filter is composed of primary Green and primary Red ==> Yellow..
primary_Blue + Yellow ==> White
Blue + Green + Red ==> White

Cyan, magenta, and yellow are subtractive filter colors..

Look up "additive color" on Wikipedia to understand why blue and yellow light make white but "blue" (cyan) and yellow inks make green.
